Take two pictures. One without water and one with a flat plane that you paint/color green. Put that inside as the level of water into your river. Then in photoshop you now have a green screen and can isolate it, color it, add transparency to see the bottom of the river etc.
Didn't think of this, but I will definitely try it once I figure out how to light the scene as a whole. Do you have any tips about reflections for water? [editline]19th November 2017[/editline] in the end settled for this probably might update it in the future if i get around to finding out how to do better water [T]https://orig00.deviantart.net/e154/f/2017/322/5/2/cliff_water_guy_by_erkor-dbu6b14.jpg[/T]
Playing around with architecture and Haputmann's props
This image is screaming for an actual armoured halftrack. Hoopity please, 251 port when
When Crowbar actually stops being a piece of shit and lets me compile a model that has every little tiny screw modelled
Alright, I've had this image in my head for over a year now of a (possibly bombed-out) Covenant wraith overgrown in the woods with several children playing 'stick guns' in and around it, along with a pair of dog tags nailed to a tree in the foreground. Before I get too crazy with the props and lighting, I'd like to know if I'm headed in the right direction and if any of these angles are a good starting point or if there's a better option for this concept. https://imgur.com/a/5a0E9 I, uh, could also use some help with finding models. I can't for the life of me find children, a better wraith (preferably Halo: Reach), or dog tags.
[T]https://i.imgur.com/98DYkwp.jpg[/T] IMO this one has the most potential, but I can't help you on models there
Sorry man, not many fps/ shooter games have Children in them because of moral reasons. there should be a halo reach model pack on the workshop with a wraith in it.
New forum, so bringing this back up to the front so you guys don't have to search for it.
Hows this so far?
Other than the wheel clipping, pretty good. Probably want to expand slightly beyond that far road, it looks unnaturally cut off
Fuck that really doesn't work, you should remove everything but the wood covering the barrel and put that on it as a handguard.
Perfect
HOW
Visclip tool fam best ting ever
what is this witchcraft
Wait you haven't heard of this? One moment, i'll find the Lovecraftian monsters i created
I have a massive problem See that left leg? For what ever reason there's one tiny spot on gm_black_v3 that's lit with some map entity. I've run into it before, but I could work around it. Here I can't and it's screwed up all the soft lamp renders by creating this unavoidable inconsistent bright spot on the resulting renders and stacking. Is there any way I could remove this/move the whole scene/work around this?
There is no fix for that afaik.
Seems to be a photoshop job in that case, shouldn't be too bad considering its just the leg
Okay I ended up using some smart weld tool and duplicating the entire scene to another section of the map. All good now
Good call. Also. I like whatever it is you're cooking there.
My GPU is crying because of all of this grass. Though there are ways to beat the system I guess.
Thats going to be a great pic though, i bet you
trying some ground stuffs
looks awesome
I already tried myself on the lighting, but I'm not quite happy with it yet... I'm thinking about retrying it and seeing if different angles and settings can make this work Any ideas/criticism?
I quite like the composition you've got there. Since it looks like you're trying to do something like this I'd recommend going with flatter lighting with softer shadows to allow the eye to travel freely over the details. Rely more on vivid colors to catch attention to important details. Also those are some really neat dirt and grass props, where'd you get those?
Most it's from either the SBMP-Pack or the detailed Scenebuild Pack (from CrazyKnife). Some of it's also from Battlefield 1 (the darker dirt around the X-Wing and downed Star Destroyer) As far as I know, it should all still be available on Facepunch
Holy shit, that crashed fighter is just stunning
feels like it's missing something
