So you're saying that your guys can't have the good stuff until the other guys can get the good stuff.
You are aware that there smugglers, the don't exactly have Drones, Abrams and Warriors and modern equipment, they deal in bought, scavenge and stolen weapons. I'm pretty sure they don't have a contract with arms companies for the latest products. (Or they could be hi-tech smugglers, who knows) Their main tank is the Patton, made in 1961!
Sorry if this is sounds dumb, but do real environmental disasters play a role in Espionage Wars, e.g if there was a flood in Louisiana in real life, would Louisiana be "out of play" in espionage wars for a few days? (Don't ask me why I went with Louisiana, I honestly don't know)
That is an interesting question, actually. We've had at least one case (Saudi Arabia) where the OP did a thing with serious dust storms that hampered the fighting. I can't recall if that was entirely fictional or if it was inspired by real weather. If we factored in real world natural disasters, it could get annoying in certain parts of the world, but it would be far more unpredictable than if we limited it to just admin-controlled disasters as events. Personally, I'm up for it as long as we can decide to ignore certain situations.
I'd prefer we do the admin-controlled. Having some stuff from IRL and then someother stuff that isn't is just gonna confuse some people. The ESP universe is ours so lets play god in it too.
I told this to Tbone already, but felt like throwing it here. I feel like the OP and/or the GMs should eventually throw a random world event as well that could bring several factions together, whether it's a conflict or not. A good example could be the Olympic Games, which we're gonna have in 2 months from now. Like I said, it could bring a lot of factions together and help make the whole thread more dynamic.
A "Private Military Olympics" sounds almost silly enough to work brilliantly. [editline]10th June 2016[/editline]
I'm aware that there Smugglers. but i recall them having.... A Cyborg.
A cyborg pieced together from the remains of long abandoned, pre-made cyborg material in an old facility that once produced said materials needed, with the help of a very reluctant professional and at the cost of god knows how many test subjects, in the end coming out as a freaky looking, necrotic mute. Ultimately, it was admittedly a silly foray, and that's why I tend not to use him unless I fancy doing something a little bit differerent. [editline] 123 [/editline] Besides, I'm probably going to end up using M16A1s, simply because I like their looks and I remember them being the main side arm of the Western Route, my old faction in V4.
but felt like throwing it here. Real-life events can really add some reality in the thread, I mean who doesn't love the Olympics! the worlds best players in one arena. [sp]Unless you were the guys who shot up Munich. man that got dark.[/sp]
So you prefer guns that have been made like 70 years ago.
They work with what they can get, they aren't going to blow their entire budget on brand new AR platform rifles or a solid gold stinger. This is usually typical with asymmetrical warfare factions, they use what they got and then loot from who they kill, it just hasn't been a very good loot since they're mostly fighting Syria's military who still uses weapons made a long while ago.
So you're saying that your guys can't have the good stuff until the other guys can get the good stuff.
No, he was saying that until the SAA starts driving Abrams and issuing H&K 416s to their infantry then they're going to be using the older stuff. Smuggler kills an SAA soldier using his Sterling smg, SAA soldier had an M16A1, Smuggler takes M16A1 along with anything else useful on the dead SAA soldier. It's how battlefield looting works, or they could overrun an SAA base and make off with whatever was left inside like the hundreds of other times it has happened in the Syrian civil war.

The ESP universe is ours so lets play god in it too.
Having spent all day at work considering that, I feel that is the better option. It'd be far less confusing than my original suggestion. It would be based off of real world weather and natural disasters, though. So you wouldn't have random earthquakes hitting London or sudden blizzards in Brazil.
I told this to Tbone already, but felt like throwing it here. In fact, it's one of the things I suggested to FT in the last thread. I'm personally holding off on doing anything like that whilst the thread is still somewhat active, since there's enough to do already.
A "Private Military Olympics" sounds almost silly enough to work brilliantly.
Tbone and I have already considered an Espwars Tank competition type thing, like the Tank Biathlon the Russians host each year and the Strong Tank Europe challenge that some NATO countries hosted recently. A PMC olympics might be kind of silly, but field exercises and competitions are a possibility. Whilst we could set up a big silly olympics type thing, there's nothing stopping you from running your own group field exercises like Tbone, Viper, and I have in previous years. It would actually be better if you ran things like that yourselves, as there are so many different alliances and groups of factions that it wouldn't be easy for any of us GMs to host field exercises or anything for you guys to join.
Plus a big international event like that would be a giant glowing target for every crackpot terrorist group like AWA.
I say we have something like a weapons expo. Show off all your flashy new tech!
A weapons expo would be nice for people with factions who manufacture things and are trying to sell it to other people. But still, the problem of "quite a lot of us hate eachother" makes it hard to organize.
A weapons expo would be nice for people with factions who manufacture things and are trying to sell it to other people. But still, the problem of "quite a lot of us hate eachother" makes it hard to organize.
Well they could always try to sabotage each other's presentations
Pretty much all weapons expos are just stalls in a convention center type place with things on display, information about them, and videos of them in use. It's quite mundane and there's not a huge amount you could sabotage, really. You could always shoot up the place but the security at those things tend to be pretty tight. Regardless, a lot of these suggestions are things you could just do yourselves. You don't need us to organize it for you. We do have plans for events, but these things are all perfectly allowed and we have no objection if you set them up yourselves.
-snip because who cares?-
The Alliansie's presentation would consist of aged Patton tanks being rofl-stomped by Tbonian T90s most probably.

This is going to sound completely random, and out of the blue, but it's something I discussed with another GM that needs to be stated here. Now I know how much we want our dudes to look cool and all, but for God's sake guys, don't go taking parts from other faction models, especially if you haven't asked first. There's a certain level of "uniqueness" some of us want to keep, and it's rude to just take something without asking. It sounds petty as hell, I know, but it's not a good feeling when you've had it happen to you. In other words, don't take parts from other factions to make your own, especially if you didn't ask the dude who made them first.

Join the fight against evil. Says the PMC who invaded N. Korea without provocation.
But wouldn't it be a good thing that he's toppling a socialist country, at least in your faction's eyes? There's an eurasian alliance/pact? I didn't think enough of you guys liked each other to team up.
Strangely enough, Baltia and Eastern Legion are in on the same Eurasian Alliance; which strikes me as weird, considering they were fighting a bloody big war not a month ago.
