I have yet again hit the damned enigma of models. I spent hours last night searching through all the models that I had available, changing skins and bodygroups, and none of them fit my criteria.
Maybe you should expand your criteria and/or lower your standards. Just pick something that'll work and then later upgrade your models when a better choice becomes available.
What is your criteria
I am trying, that is what I will have to do for now. My criteria is modern Middle Eastern people. And by modern I mean fairly modern gear.
A lot of the models released recently with Arma 2 heads have middle eastern looking facemaps available. I'm sure you could find something.
Arma 2 heads? Hm. Could you point me in that direction? I honestly dont know what to search for when looking for military models.
most if not all of Simkas' models lately have used them.
I have looked through the skins on those, but they dont seem to have more than 1 or 2 Middle Eastern faces available.
That's better than nothing, is it not? If you have no other alternatives then that's the best you'll get.
Would adding facemaps be difficult for me to do?
If you find facemaps that work with those heads then you can probably hex the models and replace some of the white facemaps with more arabic/tanned versions. I think the 80s bad guys use a lot more middle-eastern type facemaps, so you could use some of those. Someone else will have to find or write a tutorial on hexing if you need it, though. I'm not a good teacher.
I have been thinking, to make things simple, I might just try decompiling some of simkas's models, and taking the skins and accessories from those and making my own model. Correct me if I am wrong on how this works.
If you can edit models, then go ahead. I don't know why you didn't just do that in the first place.
Problem is, I dont know how.
SABRE CEO and Founder, George Haines, in a meeting with the prolific Jasper Bonnet, SABRE overseer for operators in Cyprus, was cornered by a group of Journalists for numerous media networks, amateur and professional, who inquired as to SABREs opinions and views on present events; to which the aging Falklands War veteran replied "SABRE has always strived to provide security for clients, and also function as a stable and profitable investment and banking group; we find the incursion in to North Korea by Phoenix International, to be of poor judgement and the professed goals of Mr James Markson to be dubious. As for the recent statement of Mr Randal Chekov; on this point we disagree, and recommend he refer to the countless times in recent history Private Military units have been invaluable to numerous humanitarian organisations, providing security for the important work they perform on a daily basis in the most heated areas of the African subcontinent, and Middle East, and recommend that the Tbonian People's Republic of Tbonia review these facts accordingly, prior to decrying Private Militaries as a whole." in a character-like statement regarding subject matter that concerns him. Mr Bonnet delivered a simple "Piss off" when probed on his own opinions and views on the present situation in international affairs. SABRE has continued work throughout its deployed areas, including Ghana and Cyprus, with continued intent to stabilize local power bases and maintain a form of civil obedience in somewhat unstable regions, though under what some view as a thinly veiled guise of humanitarianism, when the reality in Ghana appears to be to cement a profitable Industrial base in Ghana and take ownership of these facilities and assets. As for Cyprus, SABRE has continued its extension in to Financial and Industrial assets, securing over 43% of Cypriot privatized business, to the disapproval of unspecified sources within the European Union. As for SABREs recent expansion in to the Platine Commonwealth, the purchase of minor commercial assets; specifically, four canneries and several construction firms in the city of Gualeguaychú, has seen genuine surprise from SABREs Executive Board, with one unspecified member of the board commenting "The expected improvements haven't yet occured, though we remain optimistic" SABRE operators, that number around 150, maintain a mild presence and have taken to informal security shifts, mainly enjoying the nightlife of the Platine Commonwealth, and appearing almost as tourists when off-duty, wandering the streets of the Platine Commonwealth and exploring the numerous venues of Gualeguaychú, thus far without incident.
I really like F T's Generic Bad guys models, the first ones, but the heads are not the best, and I dont like the lack of camos.
I'd suggest asking elsewhere for this kind of stuff.
Recent suggestions have popped up through the Commonwealth that the Syndicate should assist in humanitarian operations that the Commonwealth plans to carry out in the near future. Not being one to partake in such operations, Sheng Yu was very skeptical and required some serious convincing by Congressman Marques, who met with Yu personally to sort it out

After finally setting up shop in the Commonwealth, the Syndicate has found prosper in growing and selling cannabis, which they can grow and smuggle off to other areas to expand their market. It's weird seeing a Blackforce special forces team leave Syria still breathing instead of in a bag
With the drawdown of WLA forces practically finished, the Smokkelaars see fit to begin counting the cost of their ill-thought out military adventure in Inkhil; dozens of personnel, ranging into triple digits, have been counted as either dead or missing, with even the latter pessimistically labelled as a good sign that those declared missing are dead, dozens of costly-to-lose vehicles, especially the several M60A1 Patton tanks deployed to Inkhil, have been recorded as destroyed and hundreds of items of contraband have also been destroyed, with everything from firearms to narcotics lost in the chaos. Smokkelaars still near Inkhil are being ordered to pull out and bring as much contraband as can be effectively salvaged; the rest will be left to the desert.

Lennox Allbright, the Smokkelaars tactician in the Middle Eastern theatre, has recalled the majority of the regional commanders, safe house managers and contraband dealers to Ash Shaddadi to consider their position. Shaken by the AWA's decision to detonate a dirty bomb, even with prior "warning", has brought the fanatical zeal of the AWA again into question. Nevertheless, the money made via deals with the AWA are lucrative enough to veto any calls to withdraw, perhaps even fully, from the region. Fears about yet another flashpoint, particularly against the AWA and Karaq are again fuelling local Smokkelaar's fears - and drawing interest in the possibility of another trade deal in the region and yet more monetary gain.
