I just managed to upload something that I couldn't before. Try now?
A few seconds of uploading screen and nothing as always.
This keeps bugging on me saying booltil error with error connecting upload(error 16?)
Is there a new version soon happens like 3-4 times then uploads fine.
File size was 20kb.
Maybe It's just me but I can't upload anything now.
Why?
UGH! I tried to upload the same thing 3 times with nice looking name n description. It failed every time. So I decided to upload "shit" addon. It worked at first time.
Sometimes i get errors when i write my changelog
try uploading without a changelog, it will work then.
I wish there was a Mac version. Here was my shitty attempt at porting it:

If only it didn't render text using DirectText :(
Damnit! Workshopper sucks! Whats the point in rendering text with directx??
Im gonna code a better workshopper.
If you're getting error 16 then try opening Workshopper when Garry's Mod is open and uploading it that way, seemed to stop it for me.

That's weird works for me with gmod open in the old version, worked once but now gives the error code 16.
Is it necessary to re-enter the category/tags when updating an addon? I know it's not a big problem or anything but it would be nice if you could skip that section if possible.
Okay, what's the matter with not providing windows xp support with this? Garry went out of his way to provide winxp support for gmod, why not this? Isn't that a little unfair? I mean, I can't even afford to upgrade my system. So if this doesn't get windows xp support, it's just like telling me that it costs $400+ just to upload some files. I don't find that fair in the least.. Please reconsider?
it doesn't cost $400 to update to windows vista/7/8 though..?
your OS is like 8 years old, Microsoft is done supporting it in 2 years, and I'm pretty sure Google just dumped support for Internet Explorer 7/8 (which is the same concept as this) - it's time to let go, upgrade your system.

What if you're a mac user trying to find a cheap way to workshop your addons?

so close but hit the post
Also why does Symantec tell me 'there is strong evidence this file is malicious' and refuse to let me download workshopper?
But you're not on a mac, it shouldn't concern you

The reason why it would cost me 400+ is because my computer cannot handle windows vista/7 let alone even 64 bit mode of anything. I'd have to buy a whole new computer. :/
I've already done a whole bunch of research into the matter, I'd have to buy a new computer, period. There are no more upgrade options for this thing, it's been upgraded as far as it will go.

If your computer can't handle vista/7/8 then you probably can't run garrysmod then, I really don't understand what the problem is

Do I really need to post my specs? This computer is only limited by it's motherboard right now. If it could handle 64 bit processing, I'd probably have already upgraded it to windows 7 by now. But since the motherboard can't handle that kind of processing, plus it has a pentium 4 3.40GHz processor, (which is one of the lesser processors in comparison to the core2duo) I can't upgrade. I've already looked into all my options, that and dell has said themself, that this computer would NOT handle upgrading to windows 7 well at all, it kinda means that I'm stuck.
And before you ask, I've also got 4 gb of ram, (only able to read 3 due to winxp), and a ATI Radeon HD 5750 video card with 1gb of vram. I can run the game just fine. It's windows 7 that I'm unable to run. If you haven't forgotten, the newer operating systems require more processing power to run them.

Edit: Also, you must not know much about half-life 2, considering it never required windows vista or 7 since it was released before they existed. So saying that it can't handle gmod if I don't have vista/7, is hinting that you must think that gmod requires a super computer to run. The game doesn't require that much processing power to play, honestly. However, it does run smoother on a better computer. But in my own opinion, I don't need 100FPS to enjoy a game. I simply need 15-60FPS. :/
I really wish that Garry would address my problem, so I can talk to someone who knows what they're doing.
@Foxe
Please excuse me raging now, but you're a fucking idiot, sorry, but that's the truth.
You have a ******* supercomputer!! If i can run Windows 8 (!!) on a 1.1 GHz, 512 MB RAM system then you can host a ******* server on your machine!
If you happily wrote fucking but censored *******, I can only dread at how bad that swearword must have been.

You also have to remember, the number doesn't always mean anything. You probably have a quad core processor. The pentium 4 processors were decent and all, but they were an early dual core. My P4 is probably equivalent to a core2duo that has 1.1ghz or so. Maybe 2.0 GHz. Check your specs to mine on http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=1984&game=Garrys%20Mod and see what the star rating is on our seperate processors and you'll see what I mean. Mine rates a 2-3 on their scale. Yours will probably rate a 4-5, maybe up to a 7.
My processor is dual core. /offtopic

Btw you should stop believing sites like this, they say i have 10 for Crysis 2. Well... i run it with 6 FPS.

That star thing is overall for that particular processor. NOT for that game. You also have 512 MB of Ram. The checkmarks next to the system specs when you look them up there are what tell you where you need improvement. You likely have a red or grey check mark next to your ram, or video card.
I also got some kind of error, the total size is 140MB.
It pretty much looks like this.
"Starting Publisher."
"No files or invalid fiels"
"No preview image"
"Publishing cancelled"
Shouldn't the invalid files show at the top of the file list rather than having to scroll down to find it.

So, any idea what the conclusion will be for my question? I'm really looking forward to an answer. Even a simple "I will look into this", or even "I'm too busy at the moment" would suffice. Hell, I'd even settle for a "I'm sorry, but there's reasons why we can't support windows xp anymore, and I hope you understand." But I'm hoping for the first one. And yes, I've read the entire topic, and I know there's people who seem to have fixed this problem, but I don't know how to implement their fix, otherwise I would have already...
Again, I'd appreciate a response. (from Garry, not someone from the forum. I need official response, not speculation or opinions.)
Curious, are there any plans for an offline GMA packager?
Error 10 keeps happening...
Yep, workshopper is fucking broken for me, restarted steam, then restarted the pc.
Every time...
Even though I'm using a Mac, just running Workshopper through Wine works although the text doesn't show. I update HAT through my Mac, all I have to do is guess where to click.
So I re installed it, now It will instantly say its finished once it starts uploading...

I manage to "update" it, revisions are added but no changes are made.
Tried 4 times today with different settings. Same thing every time, instant uploading, no change.
Look at the 4 last revisions (yes, I made those today).

Not sure how steam handles dates but my current date is Dec 14, 2012, 23:31.
A new type of Valve time? I'm fairly sure I'm not from the future.
