This crash popped up with: Engine Error: Our of memory! while it was in retreiving server info. http://www.sendspace.com/file/hbj0r4
How much RAM do you have? And are you using 64 or 32 bit?
I have 2047GB total and 32Bit, its in the my fisrt post D:
I remember when I used to have a lot of addons. The game would load the menu half way, then freeze there until it had downloaded the addons, then it would unfreeze and start installing them. [editline]5th June 2013[/editline] The funny thing is, it would crash every time. When I would restart it, everything was fine.
So any ideas what to do next?
The Out of Memory error still happens or just plain crashing? Could be a memory access violation
Nope, it pops up sometimes, its very rare it even show up crash window. But mostly its about memory.
So what now?
*bump*
Alright, I have this bug too, For about 4 Days now. Its constantly Crashing, without error. It only happens in Game, Never at start-up, never when disconnected from a server (Single and Multiplayer). Things I have done to fix: Delete all in garrysmod/addons Delete all in garrysmod/data Delete all in garrysmod/downloads Re-install GMod (Delete GarrysMod Folder) Re-install All Source Engine Games Re-install Steam None of these have fixed the problem. Here are the crash dump files. I'm sorry, I'm not exactly sure how to read them. 1: hl2_130611_crash_2013_6_17T22_14_43C0.mdmp 2: hl2_130611_crash_2013_6_18T3_3_17C0.mdmp Steam Dir - C:\Steam\ System Specs: ASUS A53SV-TH71 Processor: Intel Core i7-2670QM 2.2GHz Memory: 4GB DDR3 Hard Drive: 720GB WD Performance Drive Video Card: NVIDIA Geforce GT 540M With 1GB Dedi Memory Operating System: Windows 7 64bit Home Premium
Also i need to point that its happening on server which have around 60 addons, for all players it works fine, just me crashes...On my friend server where we mostly play only 2 it never crashes, also it have less addons...
So no1 knows?
Hallo anybody knows what to do next? These crasghes really pisses me of! Could it be possibly that one server where i want to play is overfilled by addons, on1 playing here have a problem, just my gmod crashes when conneting. On server with less addons i connect without problem but after anytime (mostly hour and more) gmod crashes anyway. I seriously need any USEFULL help/solution!
Apparently adding '-32bit' launch option fixes it, which is stupid since most of my friends on steam have 64-bit operating systems and can play Garrysmod just fine. It fixed it for me, god knows how long for though. [editline]5th August 2013[/editline] Although it still crashes when I alt+tab and get back in.
Nope didnt help :x Now it mostly crashes when joining a server with: Engine error: Out of memory!
http://dumps.metastruct.uk.to/dumper.py?dump=hl2_130912_crash_2013_9_15T10_29_6C0.mdmp Mine started to crash with no new addons, issue related, help please?
My gmod crashes on the menu screen. One minute it's re-downloading toybox stuff (since I deleted all of the game due to the error) and the next I'm looking at a desktop. Oh, it also crashes steam as well.
I'm having the same problems the same way. Coincidence? I think NOT! Kubuntu 13.04 64 bit.
I had a similar problem, random crashes. There really is no explanation, it kind of just goes away. Do not clear your computer (reset it) I tried, doesn't work. Reinstalling, nope. Just time.
I guess I wasn't alone for my computer crashes too, but I have pin-pointed it to when there is something large being loaded like the Nihilanth or when there is some large effect about to happen like the explosion from the large fireworks in the Garry's Fireworks Collection 1.42 addon. It also crashes with select guns from the COD MW3 addon. I too have had my game crash even when trying to join servers like prop hunt. I have uninstalled all my addons, unsubscribed and ran with only fireworks and wiremod to see if it was any interference and still got the error. I can say that this didn't happen until I upgraded to my new graphics card a MSI R9 270 GAMING 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 HDCP Ready. I will now list my system specs: System Specs: Dell Inspiron 570 Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 630 Processor 2.80GHz Memory: 6GB DDR3 Hard Drive: 1TB WD Performance Drive Video Card: MSI R9 270 GAMING 2GB 256-Bit GDDR5 Operating System: Windows 7 64bit Home Premium I will now put my crash logs, the first is the most recent which is the crash from the Nihilanth: http://www.mediafire.com/download/3e5n5u77fggy5ug/hl2_1_crash_2014_6_17T4_9_9C0.mdmp This crash log is to the explosion error that caused the crash: http://www.mediafire.com/download/zkia8qv84l6ia0m/hl2_1_crash_2014_6_17T1_59_17C0.mdmp Thanks in advance guys!
Hello, i've have that problem AND FIXED IT: 1.Open steam 2.IN STEAM(not gmod) go to community then workshop 3.Search workshop OR LOOK for garrys mod 4. On the right side panal, look for your items (under your name) 5. UNSUSCRIBE ALL(RECOMMENDED) OR SOME(NOT RECOMMENDED) FILES HOPE THIS HELPS ---CATPOO1 [editline]23rd July 2015[/editline] IF this doesnt help then the downloads are spamming your gmod (NO FIX YET!)
Here is how you solve the problem : Get more RAM. 8GB will do the trick. (It's cheap nowadays) Get a 64-bit, that way you can use the extra ram. Don't use Windows Vista, it is a living hell to deal with. Don't reinstall because that is a terrible idea, most crashes occur on 32-bits. If your processor is not a 64-bit processor, please get one. If you want the cheap method : Buy enough ram to have 8 gigs on your machine. Install a version of Linux that runs Steam. (Linux is free and fast) Problem solved. This thread is old, and this is my first post on Facepunch, but I'm happy to help. Upgrading your RAM and switching to 64-bit will make it look like you never even crashed a game in the first place. :3
