Gmod opens then immediately closes right after - HELP

Whenever I attempt to open Garry's Mod, it immediately crashes without saying, "hl2.exe has stopped working." I have had no problem similar to this in the past. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. - GoldEvil911

I am having the same problem but it seems like there is no fix which is annoying as it is a paid for game and I cant play it. :(

What are your PC specs?
