G-Mod crashing on startup without an error report.

I am having the exact same problem, but i am on a mac. How can i find logs then? I have also noticed that when I uninstall the game it starts downloading at about 75% and it downloads the whole game in about a minute (@10Mb/s). That is strange. Is it missing some files in the download? How do i completely uninstall the game? I installed and uninstalled it with steams "Delete local game content".
Thanks for help! :D
Is anyone here that is experiencing this problem running an AMD CPU/chipset/graphics card?
I tried downloading Steam & Gmod on another AMD machine running Win XP, and it didn't work, same problem.
Though I reserected an old intel rig with an nvidia chipset and an 8800gt and the game runs fine.
OS: Win XP Home SP3
CPU: Intel E5200 (2.5GHz dual-core)
Mobo: Asus P5N-D (nvidia 750i chipset)
GFX: nvidia 8800GT
Don't know if this will be helpful to Garry at all, but here it is.
I have an AMD chip aswelll I thnik it might be my graphics card settings i have changed them recently.
This problem is coused by IOBIT malware fighter.
Deinstall the program to fix your gmod.
My Garry's Mod starts, but when I go to look at multiplayer game, the whole server list is blank white, then seconds after that, the whole Garry's Mod crashes! Please help, this started yesterday night when my steam updated automatically.
-Nevermind, I tried installing an addon but that completely screwed it all up. Still having the same problems.
Type "vgui_allowhtml 0" in console without the quotation marks before joining a server.

Is it making crashlogs? If so email them over to garrynewman@gmail.com.
Try running with -condebug and see if it makes a console.log - and paste the contents here or email it to me.
Hello,
Now at 30-07-2013 its still here
i had yesterday an update (steam update) and after that my gmod isn't working anymore.
exactly the same error as everyone above me and on the other pages:
Starts gmod, screen reduces shortly and closes without any since of error / log.
When my screen reduces short after that it closes.
I never had this problem before, now i see it is already going on for alot of weeks.
I hope Garry is able to fix it, gonna be hard when you don't know what it causes.
Goodluck

Next what happend to me:
My friend said: Uch now i can't even connect to steam anymore, can you connect to steam? i said yes lol.
5 minutes later FUCK i can't connect to steam either anymore.... (i was talking over teamspeak 3 with him)
now far far in the future i am still trying, but nothing works :/ i hope its fixed soon
i have a perp server running.... but i can't even help people inside because of this.
It didn't even asked me to go offline or try it again, i hope this information can be usefull to it.
(Even when its 99% the same to all the others...)

I found a solution:
It obviously seems that Gmod is incompatible with the computer we are using, no matter the driver. It is hardware related and must be either graphics card or processor focused. As such you simply change the version of Gmod you are using. Right click Gmod in your steam libraries (if you use it in steam like me) and select properties. When that is open click the "BETAS" tab and change the option 'select the beta you would like to opt into' to 'Dev - Development Branch' Gmod will then do a quick update (to install the beta) about 15mb (for me, at least) after this Gmod should run fine.

Not sure that this will work for everyone but i fixed it it by verifying TF2 and CS Source because it had a missing texture making all hl2 launcher things crash.
