2. doesn't need to be a valve hack. it could be someone going around force uploading a file to servers causing a download of its self to other. ( lua hacks )
3. i don't play darkrp. i own 8 servers. and this file was found on 3 of my servers. and caused then to shutdown cause my antivirus said no.

Now that is strange. I didnt get that. Try making an exception for the whole steam directory, and reinstall GMod and possibly steam.

Putting it into silent gaming mode doesn't do much. (my lack of formatting and grammar is that I am now on a phone.) turn off shield control.

Sounds like you may be using the old avast. There was an update ceiling reached and I had to reinstall awhile back. Try reinstalling avast. Redownload theinstaller from the website.

Avast may have removed it. If you put it on shield control and it realized those files werestill there then it tremoved them.

Yesss. I just added the bin folder to exceptions on avast, returned the files from the quarantine back to the folder and garrysmod updated itself. Running it fine now. :smile:

For some reason Avast blocked four files from the bin folder. stdshader_dbg.dll, stdshader_dx7.dll, game_shader_generic_garrysmod.dll and soundmittersystem.dll.

That is right Games Never Look for existing files.
I asked a friend who is working for Valve and he said that this Problem will be fixed at the next Update of gmod. The worst Thing is that Valve doesnt know what this Problem is exactly

I highly suggest you fellas to uninstall Avast and install Windows own Anti-Virus; [URL="http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download"]Microsoft Security Essentials[/URL]. For Windows 8 users, just enable it in Windows Defender.

I've had it since it came out and had no issues with it, it's also very lightweight compared to Avast.
