It ain't Garry, just Valve, and every Workshop game. This happened on Skyrim before, apparently.
And you seriously think that link you provided is a reliable source? It's a guy who's claiming that Valve has limited every game that supports workshop to 50 addons, and not only that; he links to an article that was posted 2 years ago.
Valve would announce if they would put such a limit. Get your shit together and stop claiming things when you have no strong evidence to support it.
I haven't played much in a long time, but when did Gmod folders swap over to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod"
When it used to be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\usernamehere\GarrysMod"
That's where I had it all previously installed some long time ago. Or am I mistaken on that whole thing?

When GMod swapped over to SteamPipe.

Ahh, haven't played gmod for a few years now, thanks though.

I think the evidence is also something along the lines of me and everyone else here only have 50 addons on their addons page of Garrysmod (And other games if you want to try) but if you really want to be dense about it, by all means.

Please explain to my why Valve would limit Garry's Mod players to 50 addons when the game itself serves a purpose of development? And not to mention that Garry's Mod's Workshop has more addons than all of the other games combined.

Probably because some people at Valve are dumbfucks?
Saying they wouldn't/shouldn't do it isn't going to change the fact that it did happen.
Craaaaap. This glitch(?) is making the thread go downhill. Just wish I knew what is exactly causing the problem. No one knows any addon that can manually mount .GMAs?

Just extract it to legacy until this gets fixed or an official announcement that we're limited to 50 addons has been made.
Guys, quick question, does this happen on beta steam client only or both?
It happens on the main branch; I haven't tried the beta.
Guys, quick question, does this happen on beta steam client only or both?
I have beta one and it have the same problem, so every version is "infected".
I've been looking around the Steam discussions, and yeah, the problem is affecting the entire workshop, not just Garry's Mod.
When GMod swapped over to SteamPipe.
Wait, what? My Gmod is still in my username folder... :/
Wait, what? My Gmod is still in my username folder... :/
It didn't change the path for some users, it is in my username folder too. I was told reinstalling makes it go to common/.
Well looks like with this problem going on, Garrysmod.org isn't going anywhere. And I actually liked the Workshop!
Wait, what? My Gmod is still in my username folder... :/
The switch didn't delete the files in the username folder. If you see garry's mod in your common folder, you might as well delete the garry's mod files under your username. They are just taking up space and don't server any useful purpose that I am aware of.
I got exactly the same problem !
So apparently the issue is that Steam Workshop content is being limited to 50 subscriptions across each workshop enabled game.
Thanks Gaben.
... you're kidding right? :(
Okay, not sure if anyone mentioned this solution but I don't care I'm not going to read through a whole page...
Anyways, what you're going to wanna do is open up Steam; now go to example a Add-On collection pack like this: http://steamcommunity.com//sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=237126366 .
If it doesn't show up in your add-ons. Instead of deleting the add-ons and Garry's Mod. Just press subscribe again (DON'T DELETE OR UN-SUBSCRIBE FROM A COLLECTION JUST PRESS THE SUBSCRIBE BUTTON WHILE IN-GAME). The add-ons will begins to work & show up.
Your welcome, friends :downs:
[editline]24th March 2014[/editline]
Yes this was my first post on Face Punch, I don't want a welcome... I'm far from a noob, I'm to superior. ^
Also, might work with individual add-on's as-well. I don't know try the same thing but with a single add-on.
It appears that local GMA files that are under the addons/gma folder don't count toward the 50-limit, if that's any help to anyone.
Does anyone know if this also affects servers?
Does anyone know if this also affects servers?
I would imagine so, since servers use almost the same system as clients.
This is speculation though, I don't know any server that has more then 50 addons.
Snip I read a old post.

GMod Tower?
GMod Tower?
Now that, I regret downloading it. I just got those damn add-ons deleted. Took a while, since the collection was gigantic.
GMod Tower?
I also speculate they don't mount serverside addons via workshop. Wouldn't be practical for their operation.
I would like to point out that other bugs are showing up, such as this impossible rating

This is caused by Steam being DDoSed or something, no connection to Steam servers causes that,
I hope this gets fixed soon, in the meantime, I guess I will just replay Half-Life.
