This thread makes me giggle.

I love how they are completely ignoring this thread. This is a grade A+ company. Is the helpdesk down as well? If so, how are customers getting support?

I honestly believe this was a scam. Setup a shit computer with a trial of whatever solution you want, advertise for a day or two, get money and then kill the thing and get away with money. Pretty low-income scam but eh. Or they're experiencing downtime.

DDoS attack apparently: http://twitter.com/RethinkVPS
DDoS attack apparently: http://twitter.com/RethinkVPS
I thought they had DDoS protection? They claimed they did on the site. Bummer.
every time I see the words "Affordable" and "VPS" in thread titles now, I sigh internally. It seems all the shit, unprepared companies without one iota of PR/marketing knowledge, all use the phrase "Cheap and affordable"... which is also a fucking stupid phrase anyway since one word implies the other. Not that I haven't done the same thing before :v: (and that's not me plugging my old hosting crap, I'm using both of them as an example of a kid trying to start a hosting business without any idea what he has to do. Except I was cool enough to design my own site(s) instead of using a template)
Most new VPS startups: Offer super cheap prices and a long-ish renewal period. They get your money and they disappear a month or two down the line. They start another VPS company and do exactly the same. [editline]30th November 2010[/editline] tl:dr; When you get a VPS, make sure the company has been up and running for at least half a year.
Starting a new company? Don't post about it on Facepunch.
