I hate you all. :argh:
Does it mean that other companies can start using the fibre lines like how they use BT's copper lines?
I'd imagine so, yeh. They might keep it exclusive to themselves for a little while tho.. =/
GLASGOW NEWTON MEARN Scotland
Fucking A
Love the way most of it is in my portion of south London.
Fucking A
Oh yeah
Still no Fiber coming to my town, dammit. We must have some of the oldest copper cables imaginable or something as we struggle to even keep up to 1MBit during peak times sometimes. Let alone the maximum 2MBit of the 8 they said we should be able to get.
goddamnit i just switched to sky
Fiber is coming closer to my town... :crying:
:D Maidenhead <3
Goddamnit, aylesbury is on there.
Don't deserve t'internet. :P
it's grim oop north
Yey I'm in Reading
I'm pleased I'm getting Fibre. I live in quite a wealthy suburb and yet I have no phone signal on my iPhone at all, so atleast we are being treated with this
Dammit, Camberley isn't on there.
I've had this since '07 or '08
I've had this since '07 or '08
I bet you feel really cool now don't you?
I bet you feel really cool now don't you?
yeah because when you get 100Mbit I'll be on 1Gbit
ahh bollocks, Glasgow is being upgraded but just not my area at the moment:(
yeah because when you get 100Mbit I'll be on 1Gbit
woah, sorry big man.
Considering that BT provide no where near to what their claimed up to speeds are, I wouldn't get your hopes up. - If you want a reliable ISP go with virgin media.
HA! I'm with Virgin should get 2MB/s i get at most 250kb/s it's terrible, i cry.
racists.
goddamnit i just switched to sky
And sky still goes through the BT lines.
Hurry the fuck up, Comcast, I want my fibre optics NAO
HA! I'm with Virgin should get 2MB/s i get at most 250kb/s it's terrible, i cry.
Are you sure that's not what you're supposed to be getting? ISPs advertise their speeds in megabits, but when you use the internet it's measured in megabytes. 2 megabits = 256 kilobytes. If this is true then you are getting exactly what your ISP is advertising.
Hell yes, Willaston is like... just down the road from me, I think I'll get a house there if anywhere... Pretty awesome village and they are right next to an exchange :D
Considering that BT provide no where near to what their claimed up to speeds are, I wouldn't get your hopes up. - If you want a reliable ISP go with virgin media.
We tried to get 50meg Virgin Cable, but even though they dug up our road and put out the cables years ago, they said they never connected them and hence we cannot have it. Also I like how they are nearly all in the south. Even Preston, which is a city, isn't listed.
Yes Fair oak of all places.
People ain't got this yet? Alot of people in Sweden have this already... Guess were early with alot of stuff here, we just started up the first 4G network in the world here...

The main reason for the UK taking so long to increase broadband speeds is the telephone exchange network is one of the oldest in the world, and it's costing billions to maintain & upgrade slowling down broadband evolution considerably
