No it does not.

The XP name is short for "experience,"
Yup, it sure doesn't say that XP is short for "experience".
No it does not.
you're a dumbass
Amazing how a thread in which the OP ask if Windows 7 is worth it or not, can derail into a discussion about the name of a completely different operating system.

use windows 3 emulator instead, works better http://www.michaelv.org/
Yes it is. It's much much faster and smoother than Windows XP and Vista together. I hardly ever crash or get problems, and if I do, Windows 7 finds a solution.
Yup, it sure doesn't say that XP is short for "experience".
That's not what I'm saying. [editline]09:09PM[/editline]
EDIT: Ugh this isn't worth it. The damn article says that XP is short for eXPerience. Quit being stubborn and accept it. It's not any different than saying General Motors instead of GM.
I'm not disputing that. I'm saying that its name is not experience.
I'm not disputing that. I'm saying that its name is not experience.
/facepalm. Whatever man, I'd rather not argue with a wall like last time.
Same tbh. But what can you dooooo
Not be stubborn or ignorant. He, provided proof, whereas you, .
I go crazy without Aero Snap and Aero Peek now.
I go crazy without Aero Snap and Aero Peek now.
As do I. At first I thought it was another feat I would never use, but now it's become normal to use it every day.
As someone who went from XP to 7, I'd say hands down 7 is worth it. It took me a while to get used to it, but now I have almost zero problems. It's never froze, never crashed, only had a program stop responding like twice, and that was because of compatibility issues. [editline]10:23PM[/editline]
I might pirate it. Microsoft doesn't deserve my money. They have been bad boys and girls. (User was banned for this post (""I might pirate it."
I have to sort of agree with this sentiment. I don't agree with pirating it, but that shit is ridiculously priced.
It's priced no worse than any other version of Windows, and you can get it pretty cheap if you know where to look (OEM, student deals, etc).
Significantly improved over vista. Hell man my windows experience index increased when I installed Windows 7.
I have used both Vista and 7 and i cannot tell the slightest of difference. my windows experience increased, though overall performance has not. it seems people just like because its not Vista.
Not be stubborn or ignorant. He, provided proof, whereas you, .
I said that link says the name isn't experience. Yet another case of none of you reading what I am saying.
I said that link says the name isn't experience. Yet another case of none of you reading what I am saying.
It's a case of you being a stubborn bitch. This is your original statement:
Also some people called XP eXPerience for a while too.
It says nothing about the name of that particular version of Windows being XP or eXPerience, it just says that some people were referring to XP as eXPerience, which is perfectly fine, and correct.
I said that link says the name isn't experience. Yet another case of none of you reading what I am saying.
The link says XP is "short for" eXPerience. If "short for" doesn't mean that both are equally valid then I'd say you've got a pretty fine semantic line there.
XP Iis one of the best operating systems out there. The only reason I have Windows 7 is for 64 Bit and more ram being supported. You could technically get this with XP, but I just didn't want to go through the hassle.
As do I. At first I thought it was another feat I would never use, but now it's become normal to use it every day.
I do use Aero snap a lot, but why is peak needed?
I do use Aero snap a lot, but why is peak needed?
I use it to when I write something and I need to glance back to look at what it is I'm writing (I have a bad memory).

This is your original statement: It says nothing about the name of that particular version of Windows being XP or eXPerience, it just says that some people were referring to XP as eXPerience, which is perfectly fine, and correct.
But it's not because it's not the name of it. And that is what I was referring to. [editline]03:41PM[/editline]
The link says XP is "short for" eXPerience. Say your name is Michael. Mike is short for Michael. Mike technically isn't your name, Michael is. Mike = XP Michael = eXPerience.
But you could actually be named Mike, and Mike would be your name, not Michael. Mike might be short for Michael, but you name isn't Michael.
But you could actually be named Mike, and Mike would be your name, not Michael. Mike might be short for Michael, but you name isn't Michael.
It's still fine to refer to Panda X as just Panda. Even if it's not his name. Just because I refer to something by something that isn't its exact name doesn't mean I'm implying their name is what I'm referring to them by.
But you could actually be named Mike, and Mike would be your name, not Michael. Some guy's name = Michael. For short Mike.

And the problem is people think that is XP's name when it isn't [editline]08:54PM[/editline]
However that's not the case. Windows 4.90.3 = Millennium Edition. For short Me. And again, Mike isn't Michael's name. You could call him that, but that doesn't make it his name.
