I was told that MediaCoder was a very good media converter (for both audio and video) and it does look like that. It has every option I can dream of, optimizations for specific processors and even a version for converting files to playback on a PSP.
I liked it for all of the above and the fact that I can process stuff in batches so I can set it up with a pile of work, press start and by the next afternoon it's all done and everything has been converted and neatly placed in the folder of choice (In my case it would be in the networked media servers' RAID)
The problem is that I have never gotten it to work. Either it gives me empty files, "ERROR 13" or "Failed to load MEncoder" or "ERROR 15"
I really want to use it but what the fuck? I was assuming it just didn't like the .flv files VideoDownloadHelper gave me but I also fed it a simple uncompressed .avi and .mov file to convert to a simple .MP4 with MP3 quality sound and it fails.
Seriously? What the hell? Can you not at least release something that actually fucking works?
Try Xilisoft Video Converter Ultimate.
It usually helps to google it.

Seems to be lacking in any form of answers.
Another thing I noticed is that a lot of reviews complain about it not working which seems to me that it simply sucks and has too many things that can go wrong with it.
As a last resort I would try to download some codecs as you might simply not have the required codecs to make shit, but I don't really think that's where the problem is. Download K-lite codec pack, the lite version that only contains standard codecs.

This is a very good converter, however, it costs and if you don't register it has some annoying limitations, but when you register, it's the best converter I've used
Okay so out of those links I found I might be missing MEncoder however I can't seem to find the Mencoder codec or whatever. Yes, when I installed MediaCoder initially I installed all the additional codecs.
