Who else likes this one? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/persona/15193 It's pretty cute.
So, I went to download the new Beta, and I accidentally clicked on the Afrikaans language, which I only noticed after opening the setup file. Naturally, I clicked cancel. But then... I'm scared. :ohdear:

I just wish I could switch to Firefox and not have to deal with Chrome being there still. Mocking me.

Using Firefox doesn't make you cool on the internet. (Neither does Chrome)
bumping due to update to Release Candidate
I don't understand the difficulty of the development of a web browser, but why is tab isolation not coming in 3.6/3.7 but in 4.0? Fucking balls IE has it.
but why is tab isolation not coming in 3.6/3.7 but in 4.0? Fucking balls IE has it.
I agree. Seriously, why.
It seems Firefox is moving at a snail's pace compared to the other browser's imho.
It seems Firefox is moving at a snail's pace compared to the other browser's imho.
Better to go slow and do things right than to rush and have many bugs and problems.
Why does Firefox run SO terribly on my netbook, the scrolling is so choppy compared to Chromium.
Better to go slow and do things right than to rush and have many bugs and problems.
Speaking within itself. You compare it to Chrome, Mozilla best get their asses in shape.

I prefer if they just work on performance...that's my main concern.

Chrome currently has it, and IE is implementing it.

Firefox 3.6 has tab recognition but they disabled it after Beta 2 I think. You have to re-enable it in about:config. Progress doesn't work.
I stopped using the beta version. With a few tabs open it was using a shitton of RAM. Gonna install the RC1 and hopefully that's fixed now.
Might as well post this here, even though this thread is about the beta and not alpha (Minefield): Yesterday I noticed that I no longer have ClearType enabled on certain sites (or fonts?) in Minefield. I've tried changing the default fonts and reinstalling Minefield. I also tried with the FF beta, and it was fine, so the problem only exists in Minefield. Any ideas what could be causing this? Also, e.g. Facepunch posts lack ClearType, but the menu links on top ("Inbox", "Control", etc) have it.
3.6? I'm using 3.7 Minefield. Hecka fast.
Yay rc2
Yep, RC2. I only notice a slight speed increase in the browser itself.
3.6? I'm using 3.7 Minefield. Hecka fast.
Hecka? Wow.
3.6? I'm using 3.7 Minefield. Hecka fast.
Same here, Its pretty damn awesome.
I don't understand the difficulty of the development of a web browser, but why is tab isolation not coming in 3.6/3.7 but in 4.0? Right now they're using threads rather than processes.
Got random freezes in RC2, have to stick with 3.5 for now.
Yep, RC2. I only notice a slight speed increase in the browser itself.
Placebo. Once the RC is out, no new code is written, only bug fixes.

Chrome made it quick as did IE8. 4.0 is suppose to release late '10 to early '11. A whole year for such an important feature? MEH.
