I hope this is true. If so, we will see a RC in about a week or so! Maybe less!
Mozilla’s never ending Firefox 4 bug squash story is coming to an end. There is only one bug left to fix and that is a fairly simple step: Mozilla needs to update the Firefox 4 system requirements page. After that, the company has eliminated all hard blocking bugs for the browser (as of this morning), which should level the path to create the first Firefox 4 RC build.
Late yesterday, Mozilla’s Mike Beltzner said that the developer tree will be closed once all bugs are gone and monitored until the following triage session. If the bug count is still zero, the team will order the first RC build. It appears that the first RC could arrive early next week. We also hear that Firefox 5 is on track to ship by the end of May of this year.
Firefox 4 Mobile is unlikely to be released together with Firefox 4, as the (mobile) RC is scheduled for a March 8 code freeze.

is firefox 5 a typo
Not sure. Ive heard mixed things about them rushing to Firefox 5 not long after 4. I have to look into it more.
Wow they are doing Firefox 5 and are looking to release not long after. Intresting..

Is there a reason why the refresh button doesn't seem to work at all? It's constantly greyed out.

click it.
click it.
It doesn't do anything.
I just downloaded Minefield B13 if that has anything that may challenge the above?
Nah, they just start naming builds b13pre once they go past the b12 milestone.
It seems like they're going for RC though, which is exactly the same as the final release unless they find important bugs that need fixing. If there aren't any of those bugs, the setup is copied/renamed and released as the final version, assuming they haven't changed their meaning of RC recently.
I can't find beta 13 on the roadmap anymore. We might see an RC land soon if it was indeed removed. There are no hardblockers left other than some meaningless System requirements bug (See: Can we ship yet?)
I'm sorry but that's a really dumb thing to say. They are not every bit as stable as the beta releases at all. Ever. Nightly builds are compiled as-is. Sometimes developers commit changes that aren't finished yet, sometimes the build doesn't even compile. Sometimes it crashes. Sometimes you lose all of your bookmarks. This happens regularly, and looking at a few Firefox bug reports would show you this in a very obvious way. It happens with betas too, but less often.
And anyway, why are we talking about the vast majority of users? People like to pull that out of nowhere all the time, even when it makes no sense. The vast majority of users do not give a shit about Firefox betas (or firefox versions at all), really. If the vast majority of users used nightlies, we'd see even more bugs because there would be more coverage testing.
Crashing bugs happen. This does not mean everyone will crash, but you regularly see certain code paths come up on the bug tracker from crash report statistics. This isn't just an anecdote like your experience is, but fact (even though I am sure you aren't lying about being lucky with the nightlies. I ran them too before)
Here's another anecdote: I ran a Firefox 3.6 beta back then and lost all of my bookmarks. This was a known bug, and was fixed in the next beta. I had backups, of course. This stuff happens, and has an even higher chance of occurring with nighly builds. Like I said, your results may vary. But running nightlies without backup is no doubt very stupid once you're aware of what has happened before in the Firefox world.
It's important to note that not everyone will get the same bugs. People use their browser differently than others, and you'll hit some code paths I never will, and vice versa. Getting lucky and -never- having a crash or data corruption (Jeez, I wish I ran your nightlies) is a silly reason to suggest that they are stable at all.
Every FF user needs to install FEBE and have it backup your entire profile periodically. Not having a backup is just asking for data loss.

Does the new Firefox Sync have backup slots as well? If so, then you have it built-in straight in the browser. If it doesn't, I'd recommend the above as well (Or something like mozbackup).
I've never been able to make the switch to chrome - I've always found it to be lacking in ways I can't explain.

It's possible if you make some modifications to userchrome.css
Like this?

Yes by modifying userchrome as Bengley said above
I can't do editing of that for shit. :v:

What script are you using that changes the header and everything of the page? I haven't used a fp script in forever
Also I've never made the switch from Chrome to Firefox since about 2009. I think this is a large improvement, I love it. I'm finally back to using Firefox.
What script are you using that changes the header and everything of the page? I haven't used a fp script in forever
