Come on, it's business.
Still doesn't make it nice :froggonk:
Still doesn't make it nice :froggonk:
No, suing isn't nice either, but it happens all the fucking time.
It works fine on my Xebian setup. I have a USB Female cable running under my vents near the controller port for a keyboard and mouse. Also, on thte GPU it says "nV2A" and "XGpu". My mod chip is on the other side of the board incase you guys are wondering. I'm just hoping that I can find some RAM chips for it. Probably 16MB Each since there are already 4 Ram chips on the board and 4 of them are free. If I happen to want to turn it into a media center for 1080P I'm going to have to add watercooling and overclock the processor to 1ghz-ish. 720p works fine though. [editline]1st January 2011[/editline]
I have an old xbox, how would i take the ram out of it. I might ship it to you [editline]1st January 2011[/editline] the xbox is broken btw
If you're still willing to do that I'd give you some money in return.
Search the chip numbers then order. It's easy
Search the chip numbers then order. It's easy
Order the chips from where?
google the numbers?
Is there any part number on the chips themselves? There's a part number search feature on Samsung's global business site. Edit: Check http://www.xbox-linux.org/wiki/Upgrading_Xbox_RAM_HOWTO#Suppliers_of_Xbox_Memory_Chips

The memory in my Xbox is K4D263238F-QC50 so I assume I need 4 more of those. Google is being a POS and wont display any useful results.
I remember llama used to have some. Edit: Never mind. They stopped stocking it or something, I can't find it on their site anymore.
Odd question but will the CPU address that extra ram? You might as well get a 360 and load up your xbox games
Odd question but will the CPU address that extra ram? You might as well get a 360 and load up your xbox games
Its limitations are within the bios. The CPU is a pentium 3 coppermine so I'd assume so. I heard you could get passed the limit with a hacked bios but I am too good for that. Let me remind you, I do not want a piece of shit Xbox 360. I want to run a linux server.
what is your "server" going to do
What isnt it going to do. Mail server, file server, Apache.
What isnt it going to do.
Well on a p3 and max 256mb ram and a 10/100 port not much.... Mail server, okay you can get away with that easy FTP: on a 10/100 4200RPM drive 8(maybe 16) megs cache, going to be quite slow only 10 megs a second after trailers/headers Apache: once again if all the data is on the drive it is going to be kinda slow, If you do this in with no gui 64 megs is enough, for apache and Mail, as long as you don't go over say 50 users, not loading large images constantly
Well on a p3 and max 256mb ram and a 10/100 port not much....
I'm assuming a mail server, file server, Apache will do just fine for what I want.
i'll sell you my xbox original for £200
He said he can get em for $20 on last page :downs:
i'll sell you my xbox original for £200
Why would I want your Xbox. You can get them for $20.
I don't care I'll still sell it for that cheap cheap price.
I bet its a 1.6, if so I'm not even interested and for that price Im not interested either way.
Couldn't you use a heat gun to melt the solder. Flux would be present of course.
Why not just set up a VM of linux on your main PC then route everything out on your NIC
Couldn't you use a heat gun to melt the solder. Flux would be present of course.
I have no expirience with a heatgun so I would not know, the only thing I can do well is solder.
Cause you're poor, it's a 1.2.
1.2, pff. I'm only interested in RAM and 1.0,1.1's.
http://www.brokerforum.com/components-parts/popular-electronic-parts-K4D263238FQC50000-c-en.jsa has them but only in bulk http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/324602189/K4D263238M_QC50.html 10 minimum order [editline]1st January 2011[/editline] or look for a cheap pc on craigslist (which probably will cost cheaper than the ram) and run Apache, or invest in an ATOM board and mod the xbawx

Apache for generic html and personal image hosting. I also upgraded the harddrive. It has a 7200RPM WD Blue with a Sata>IDE converter tucked under the drive. I'd also prefer to use my xbawx as a server instead of my other old PC which has a 600mhz Celeron and 256mb of ram. It has a really noisy PSU and its propietary so I cant replace it without additional adapters.
