I'm using FF only sometimes, but I still can't wait for 4.0 to be released, because 3.6 is ugly.
What exactly is new in Beta 2?
What exactly is new in Beta 2?
it's all old now, beta 3 is out already
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003/
It'll let you use your add-ons, no matter what version they're set to work with.
However, not everything is compatible.
We really need that link added to the OP.
Much easier just to set extensions.checkCompatibility to false - I've been running Firefox like that since 3.0
I'm mad at Mozilla.
They got rid of the browser.tabs.tabMaxWidth setting.
MY TABS ARE TOO WIDE! Gah!
How do I make my app tabs carry over between browser sessions? It's a neat feature, but pretty useless when they disappear whenever I restart firefox.
Seems like most people are having this problem, I'll just wait until it's fixed in an update.
i can't wait until tab candy makes it into firefox 4 builds.

No it isn't.

I'm not even using the latest build man
I think he meant the beta builds, not alphas (pre-beta, whatever).
Has Mozilla fixed the slow start up yet?
Has Mozilla fixed the slow start up yet?
Firefox has always started near instantly for me. Sounds like you have a misbehaving addon.
It starts fast for me, about a second or so even when pulling up 10 tabs with it.
It starts up quickly to me too. That's why I'm using if for quick and short tasks.

Do any addons work for Minefield?
Also mine starts up pretty quick.

Other than Greasemonkey and the Pastebin addon, I haven't found any that don't work in Minefield.

But how many addons do you use?
Not too many, really. Just Adblock and the compatibility reporter.
It's also worth noting that I've got my build compiled without ALSA support and with SSE3 optimizations, which impacts performance and may or may not break addon compatibility.

I use a bit more.
Adblock Plus, Add to Search Bar, Add-on Compatibility Reporter, Firebug, ForecastFox, Locationbar2, New Tab Homepage, NoScript, Organize Search Engines, Personas, Stylish, and Xfire XO Toolbar

(Disregard shady domain)
it seems to work so far, thanks
Why would we get it from there when we could get it on the addon site?
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748/
Especially when you tell us to disregard the "shady domain".

because the vanilla one doesn't work. that one is repacked or something.
Anyway, I trust Darkimmortal with things like this.
Bit of Googling shows the source of DM's link. There's a newer XPI on the second page of the source.
Yay, beta4 is out.
