Fine, I'm using Firefox. But even if I wasn't, Opera has an adblocker built in. Idiot.
If I remember right, I just installed Opera normally as the installation went along like any average person would. Also, [IMG_thumb]http://imgur.com/eRKD7.png[/IMG_thumb]
Opera actually ran noticeable slow while fetching that picture too...
Oh please, you're absolutely pathetic. Also, [IMG_thumb]http://imgur.com/eRKD7.png[/IMG_thumb]
Are you serious? Do you think Firefox just blocks ads automatically when you just install the browser? No, you download the extension and subscribe to a filter. In Opera, all the ad-blocking functionality is built-in. Right click on a page and select all the elements you want blocked (it's really "content blocking"). To get a filter list, you have to download one. It's not hard.

No, I was talking about how Opera "has everything you need from the get-go" like some people are saying. Also, [IMG_thumb]http://imgur.com/szoEn.png[/IMG_thumb]

You're so cool killing the revenue of your favorite sites.
hey look I found a picture of you
I can't even think of anything to say to that. You have to resort to that instead of valid arguments? Yes, Firefox is flawed with no native adblocker. Everyone does have a different taste in browser. Some people just seem to think Opera can do everything in the world, however. I have made stupid comments and made myself seem like a Firefox fanboy but it's just those people that make a stupid argument that get me all riled up. Mooth I apologize for being a dick, the internet just really pisses me off sometimes.
I was trying Minefield out last night, just to see what the Beta is like. It wasn't too bad, but the lack of Flash currently kind of stopped me from using it. And when I did use Opera, it wasn't bad, but using the built in AdBlocker seemed to increase the load time by a asston. [editline]06:36PM[/editline]
You're so cool killing the revenue of your favorite sites.
It would help if adverts that most sites use weren't so in your face "CLICK ME NOW OR ILL FLASH". The adverts used on FP for example are not annoying, they are out of the way, and do not really have much to them.
Wow Firefox must really suck then. It's not like this is a beta or anything.
It's not like this particular shortcoming has been in literally every version of Firefox that supports extensions.
I can't even think of anything to say to that. You have to resort to that instead of valid arguments? Yes, Firefox is flawed with no native adblocker.
I don't particularly see that as a flaw. It's just that you were comparing Firefox's and Opera's adblocking capabilities unfairly. You installed Adblock Plus for Firefox, but you didn't set up a filter in Opera.
Everyone does have a different taste in browser. Some people just seem to think Opera can do everything in the world, however.
I'm constantly switching between the main browsers (excluding IE and Safari). They all have their strengths, weaknesses, and personal niggling issues. I don't think many people think Opera can do "everything", but you have to admit it accommodates most users' needs by having most necessary features built in. Most things that, say, Firefox can do (the most useful stuff, that is), Opera can probably do stock. I'm using Firefox right now, but I know if I switched back to Opera I'd only be missing a couple features that I had to use as extensions in Firefox (particularly, full-on Lastpass support, but the bookmarklets are fine I guess).
I have made stupid comments and made myself seem like a Firefox fanboy but it's just those people that make a stupid argument that get me all riled up.
Well, honestly... it's just that what you were complaining about was untrue. I'm quick to defend something from false information and blind bashing.
Mooth I apologize for being a dick, the internet just really pisses me off sometimes.
It's fine bro; I know that feeling. I take back any dickish things I said, too.
Well, honestly... it's just that what you were complaining about was untrue. I'm quick to defend something from false information and blind bashing.
Doesn't have to be false though, judging from previous posts.
why does that matter at all
It's gross to the point that usability suffers.
It's gross to the point that usability suffers.
It's just a place where you blacklist and whitelist elements of a page. I don't see the problem. NoScript isn't really particularly necessary anyway, especially in Opera.
It's just a place where you blacklist and whitelist elements of a page. I don't see the problem. NoScript isn't really particularly necessary anyway, especially in Opera.
Why?
Why?
Because javascript exploits are hardly big issues, and they usually target specific browser vulnerabilities. Opera has always had an excellent track record with security, and since it's not exactly the most popular browser, it won't be targeted as much. Plugin exploits are what you have to look out for. From what I understand, NoScript does blocking of these as well, but I think having this coupled with script blocking makes for an annoying browser experience. Opera can do blocking of some plugins with Flashblock Of course, you could always just run your browser in a sandbox and not have to worry about any of this.
It looks like chrome except not as pretty.
No, it's prettier. :keke:
I wouldn't mind ads if they were all like Google ads, but most have tracking cookies, or some other nasties in them, and are just generally annoying with flashing pictures, and smiley faces saying "LOOK HERE!"
Hopefully addons will be supported when it's released. I do not like the GUI
Btw i REALLY hate how firefox made a separate program for plugins

Who cares about tracking cookies?
Here's a good reason not to:
Here's how to make them work: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003/ I know it's been posted before, but you you all need it.
No we we don't.
Of course we we don't want to try and see if we can get some of our favourite addons working with Firefox 4, they could destroy our RAM or something and you know I have lots of important documents on my RAM

Generalisations..
