Some cases can be good looking. Case in point, Level 10.
Looks like an engine.
BMW did help design it.
Build your own! Really, I didn't think it was a good idea at first but it's a lot cheaper (£20 total for my desk) and they're much longer/wider. A desk this size would of cost me about £300-400 atleast. Not to mention it looks much better than having a bulky metal frame. Got some pictures above.
That looks great, where do I start?
I've never personally been partial to towers on the desk, it just takes up desk space that could be used for work, acts as a radiant space heater and adds unnecessary noise. But hey, I'm a fan of hiding things away.
I have a dog and cat; no way in hell is my tower sitting on the floor.
Cover it with a trash-bag so the hair doesn't get in.
Cover it with a trash-bag so the hair doesn't get in.
I might as well toss some hand heaters in there so it doesn't get a cold.
Cover it with a trash-bag so the hair doesn't get in.
Or you could put the bag on the dog and cat???
That looks great, where do I start?
I live in the UK so I'll be naming UK shops. But the way I did it was; Go to B&Q, buy the contiboard (They have white, black and a few others) 2500x610mm desk (2.5m by 61cm), most desks have around 1-1.5m so this is more than enough. 50-60cm width is also great (fits my big tower and whatnots) so it's perfect. Make sure you have a way to take it home, we got it into a hatchback (Ford Fiesta) but it was hanging out of the boot and covered the gear shift. They charge £20 for delivery if you can't get it home. £13.50 for contiboard. I used industrial strength shelf brackets, you can also get tham at B&Q for £1.50 each, I got 4 in colour black £6 I used a stainless steel leg (70cm-85cm adjustable) from B&Q aswell, made for breakfast bars in kitchens but looks great and is strong as balls. £3 /w screws Screws, I just took the brackets and made sure my screws fit, they were about 1.5inches long and had dampeners. £22.50 total. Would've cost £200+ for a desk that size normally. Although the hard bit is actually putting it together, It's not "hard" but I have never done DIY myself in.. ever, but I faired alright. I had to borrow a huge-ass drill fro my next-door neighbor to get through the brick walls, but if you're using plaster walls or brick, make sure you know what you're doing and if you need a drill or those things for plaster walls, not sure what they're called. That's it, it's about the best desk you'll ever own seeing as it looks better without the metal frame, takes up less room and is much bigger. Make sure to drill 1x1inch square holes at the back for your wires to pass through, I put my tower on my desk so the only wires going under my desk were my subwoofer and the speakers connecting to it, luckily my TV has a wire tidying "area" at the back, I just put everything in that and you can't see a damn thing. Goodluck! It's worth it.

God dammit, Ice storm took out one of my monitors last night.
I'm gonna rearrange my room a little bit right now just for fun and I'll post a before and after picture.
God dammit, Ice storm took out one of my monitors last night.
How did that happen? Surges or what?
How did that happen? Surges or what?
The ice broke into his room and stole it.
How did that happen? Surges or what?
Must have been, I had unplugged the computer but it might have been to late, must have been a "microflux" or something, one that doesn't dim the lights but fucks up the current. Either way, rest in piece 20.1" Dell 2005FPW...you've served me well since 2005.
A moment of silence for this great loss. Give it a viking funeral Ajacks.
I know, I saw the image after a page refresh. Cool shelves, too. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/13038989/Wall.png[/img_thumb] Would they look good on this part of my wall?
what is that style of bed called is it just like a mattress on the floor or what
what is that style of bed called is it just like a mattress on the floor or what
If that's a mattress on the floor then he must have 6 foot ceilings.
if that's a mattress on the floor then he must have 6 foot ceilings.
maybe he does hng, okay, i'm stupid.
what is that style of bed called is it just like a mattress on the floor or what
A style commonly known as mattress on floor. I want to try out a futon, they're fairly low and look comfortable, I'm not a fan of incredibly soft mattresses, give me something non-bumpy and stiff and I'll sleep endlessly.
what is that style of bed called is it just like a mattress on the floor or what
Futon, yo. [editline]1st February 2011[/editline] :ninja:
IT'S ALIVE! I revived the girl somehow!! I'm happy I don't have to drop any change on replacement LCD's. Happy day!
It's a freak of nature.
Ajacks was about to burn it at the stake and it turned itself back on out of self-preservation.
Ajacks was about to burn it at the stake and it turned itself back on out of self-preservation.
That's also how I got my old Maytag washer to start back up on the spin cycle after deciding not to wash my filthy clothes anymore.
