I demand to know what Media Center / theme that is (looks like XBMC?)
The new XBMC is pretty awesome, it has an online skin database so you can download straight to XBMC from XBMC. This one is called Xperience.

*sight* My grandmother gave away all my old games and consoles to the goodwill. 10 YEARS OF MY LIFE! Wish I could've salvaged them for nostalgia sake.
My Virtual Machine Desktop (Windows 98):

That wallpaper was made by me.
Yes, Half-Life and Half-Life 2 work perfectly in VMWare.
I'll post my actual desktop tomorrow, it has the same wallpaper though.
Edit: OH SHI-
Desks? I though desk was short for desktop. Damn. :(
Allright, I'm sorry. Here is my desk.

Your laptop floats in the air? :v:
Yes obviously.
Cause I mean I wouldn't ever put it on TOP of my LAP or anything.
Laptop on top of your lap is probably one of the worst places you can place your laptop... ironically
All the dissipated heat gos directly into your laps, your thy, and etc...
There's one very large vent on the side, and a pretty strong fan, so the bottom never gets that hot. Not hot enough for me to notice, at least.
Well, in addition to the heat prob, you probably are in really bad posture to use computer.
It will come back to hunt you when you get older if you stay in that posture for too long.
You still need to get a desk even if you are using a laptop.
Also hot laptops can make you infertile.

I have the same keyboard and mouse.
I love your setup. Is that hackintosh or a Mac on different monitor? I wish I had a job, I need to save up and buy me a desk and laptop.
the dell display is coming from the laptop. it used to be from my pc but that clunker is having motherboard issues so it is temporarily a slave to my mac until I get around to fixing it.
Did a few hour job and rearranged my bedroom. I like it.

studio is a lot cheaper though :x
I have all my important stuff with me all the time.
It's philly btw, so the security isn't the best in the world, if not the worst...
If only I could carry my workstation with me...
though an 1 bedroom apartment is not much different, there is just one additional door without lock.
Dorm has security guards and all, but they get cockroaches and mice, which I cannot stand. >.>

Renters insurance costs me $110 a year I think, up to $20,000 worth of coverage if I'm robbed. No big deal.

It's not losing the item itself, insurance for a year will be $230 for $25,000. It's the fear of losing all the stuff saved on hard drives over the last half decade.

Backup. Keep them offsite. Simple.
I only leave no more than $4k worth of stuff in my apartment. (my computer is most of it)
the rest stay at home (actual home, where my parents are) or with me
Does anyone else here have no personal belongings in his room other then the computer and furniture, phone and clothes and stuff?
I have my PC, bed, clothes, and other small things.
I cleaned it up a bit. Can do much more
