I heard that it's cheap somewhat in terms of strength and durability, but is this true? I need something that will support three large monitors (24-30+ '') , POSSIBLY a desktop over 12 pounds, a small set of audio engineering equipment, and 2 medium sized studio monitors (speakers, not displays). I saw one of the vika desks on ikea recently for around 35-55 usd, so I was wondering if I will be getting alot for my money, or just something cheap that doesn't have much use when it comes to high end equipment support.

However, the surface does dent and scratch quite easily. If you're willing to spend more money, I'd go for any Ikea galant desk.

Hey guys, I'm about to move into my own apartment and i'm looking for a new desk for my pc and later my girl friends. It needs to be big enough for 2 computers, and possibly a little bit more space for my sewing machine (but i may just get another desk for that). i'm trying to keep it under 100 bucks, but those folding tables scare me to put 2 desktops on... anyone got any ideas? the design of my room is kinda a mix between modern contemporary design and grungy punk... which actually works better than you'd think, i'll post pictures when i get set up. It'd be really cool if i could find one that sets up against others so that i could have a curved L shaped one by linking them together. I'm working with a corner, one side longer than the other, can't really remember the exact demensions [editline]23rd April 2011[/editline] nvm i think i'm going to ikea
Look at Ikea things, really, it's better if you choose yourself. [editline]23rd April 2011[/editline] [img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/desk_001.png[/img] [editline]23rd April 2011[/editline] Piggy bank is alpha as fuck.

So I'm in the market for a new desk because I'm buying parts for a build to have my own PC instead of being in the kitchen where the family computer is. Anyway I go to ikea's website and I found two desks that would go well together and fit nicely in my room, add to cart, calculate shipping. :wtc: [img]http://filesmelt.com/dl/wts_shipping.png[/img] Where else can I get desks like this without the $350 shipping.

Closest store is in Illinois, but I'll check eBay and see if there's anything cheaper than 400 dollars.

MY closest IEKA is in NY. Would driving 300 miles down and back or getting this shipped be cheaper?
