My laptop supports n, but I have b/g router. :frown: Am I the only one who keeps the WLAN connetion open?
:downs:
I got some buffalo n on newegg for 50 bucks from 150 dollars due to some sale.
Except no-one actually reaches 300Mbit/s because there's always something fucking over the signal
And now i'll just wait for routers, designed with the finalized 802.11N standard in mind :buddy:
There won't be any difference to draft-n routers
Yes, because that's a bad idea.
Why so? I din't mind sharing my bandwidth.
Just as I got a draft N router for free :D
Ug. Another wireless standard. Can we just move on to the R already? I want my Wifi Roaming. (You can jump from hotspot to hotspot in less than 50ms, enough for VoiP)
There won't be any difference to draft-n routers
And if there is, one of the requirements of the 2007ish pre-N routers was that the firmware must be able to be upgraded to the full spec. Though what's likely to happen is that vendors will drop support for their draft-n devices and start selling N devices, meaning the devices that currently work will keep working and those that don't will stay that way...
Or, like Linksys did with the BEFSR81 v2, release faulty firmware and hope the customer buys another Linksys router.
Oh you kids with your transfer speeds, I remember back in the day when we had to attach punch cards to pigeons.
