google the benchmarks, I already did. 4870 1GB lost in everything except one game, and it consumes a lot more power
According to this, the 4870 1GB and the GTX 260 Core 216 have almost identical benchmarks.
you can't compared the specs of an Nvidia card and ATi card, they use the numbers differently
Nvidia: 448-bit interface
ATI: 256-bit interface
and then GDDR3, GDDR5...
specs are even worse for comparing

oh and they always super overhype the power requirements anyway
what the fuck kind of proof do you need then.
not to mention, even if the 260 does beat the 4870 1GB, the small percentage of superior performance isn't worth the money.
Go for it. Go for the 55nm one (Core 216 version), as its temps will be more manageable than the 65nm version. Also rivatuner that shit and kick up the fans to 90% or 100% when gaming.
Are you saying benchmark doesn't prove anything? Fine, here's statistics then.

I'm no computer expert, but I'm guessing higher is better? (Except for PSU)
Just so you know, if you add that ATI card to your cart, it's actually $90.
Just so you know, if you add that ATI card to your cart, it's actually $90.
Actually it's 149.99. You have to add up the price of the 2 games it comes with.
Just so you know, if you add that ATI card to your cart, it's actually $90.
Only because the 2 free games are listed as $30 each.

If this is just for CoD4 then either card would kick the shit out of it, I have a 4850 in my desktop and it easily maxes CoD4 at 1680x1050 @ about 60+ fps.
In all the comparisons I've seen the GTX 260(216) Outperformed the 4870 1gb by about 4- 12 Fps.
So, I am thinking of buying a new graphics card as my current one is terrible (cod4 lags on low). So I was looking around and saw this one: http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?nov-265 .
Is it worth it? I have £200 but I want some money left over so that one is in my price range.
Could i run that with a 450watt PSU?
yes
