• SounCard Electrical Noise

Just installed a new sound card, SoundBlaster X-Fi Titanium 70SB088000004 on a ASRock A780GMH/128M motherboard into a Antec 900 2 Case and am getting electrical noise in the sound through jacks on the front of the case, I have the HD Audio plug for the case plugged into the pin header on the front of the sound card and the jacks on the back of the sound card work perfectly fine but would like to use the front jacks on the case, also what do I need to to do to install a second hard drive on vista?
Are all the card connections properly connected? (like pushed in all the way) Are the drivers installed properly? To install a second hard drive, put it in your computer, connect the proper cables, then boot up, go to Disk Management and Format the hard drive to the NTFS file system.
Electromagnetic interference in the cables I would say.
It's rather hard for me finding the correct terms in English for this but anyway... If it's a constant low buzzing noise it's ordinary ground looping which is often identical in frequency to your AC frequency. Cause is most likely a faulty power unit on your computer or any of the connected devices. A cheap and easy fix for this would be putting an NF-filter between any audio connections to and from your computer. I had the same problem with a different case. It turned out that the bracket holding the front panel ports to the case was slightly bent, pushing the ports to the side and somehow making a ground loop. I just had to bend the bracket a little to fix the problem. Moral of the story: try shifting things around (the ports, the cable connecting to the sound card, the card itself, etc), it might just fix the problem.
