Does the winner mean I should get them?
By the way, the 590 SEK is about 87$

87.94$ to be exact
Are the Sennheiser HD595 good?
And if I get it, should i get this too?
In a single question, you asked the question I hoped any user looking for headphones would ask.
Yes. Those headphones together are basically one of the best combinations you could look for, and that's perfect.
Never look at Razer or SkullCandies again, my friend.
Anybody have experience using a receiver as an amp? I might be replacing my current Onkyo 5.1 with the updated 7.2 (or 5.1) HDMI version and I'll have it to use with (probably 555s since they are the cheapest/most juicy looking)

Seems like a lot, to me (I got mine for $14 USD, open box), how much are the Fiios?

Can't find them on Komplett, on Amazon they're 22.49$
[editline]26th June 2011[/editline]
But I don't know.
I could just save my money for a couple of months and buy the Xonar
HD595 don't even really need an amp, look up a CMOY amp on ebay and see if you can get one, they should always be roughly 30 USD everywhere, i think.

Just did http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/435809/jvc-ha-rx700-mods to my HD202, no clue if they sound any different, but the highs seem better.

there's not many good open fullsize headphones for that price, KSC75 are a good choice if you can deal with them being clip ons
[editline]26th June 2011[/editline]
nvm they're not really bassy

If you want fully open look at portapro, or HD408
Bought some Head-Direct RE0s, they were defective :saddowns:
But they sound really nice for IEMs.
but those superlux are very very very good quality
I got some Sony MDR-XB500's. Them things are nicceeee for the price (heh). Actually have huge bass without compromising sound quality. Really reallycpmfortable as well, wore them for 3 consecutive hours.
uh what? how did you break them? they're meant to pop off if that's what happened... you just pop it back on.
Well balls I feel fucking stupid lol. I don't still have the clips in any case, fuck it I'm just gonna get some ath-m50s
Agree for buying Sennheiser HD595 with this and saving up for a Xonar DG or maybe something better.
Spending my last day with my HD380's before I pack them up and mail them back for a full refund.
I've given it a lot of thought and I want open phones, in the $150 range.
AD700's can't be found anywhere in sweden for some asinine reason and all the high end open sennheisers are stupidly overpriced due to import tax and shit. (hd555's cost like $220)
Preferably I would prefer earpads similar to those of the creative fatality, not sure what fabric it is bit it's damn comfortable. My short time with the 380's taught me I don't like leather pads.
Edit:
are the HD558's any good?.
My Steelseries 7H are breaking and I'm going to need a new headset very soon.
Anyone have any recommendations for an audiophile such as my self?
I love my Steelseries, because it has great sound quality with a high quality retractable microphone (and a durable braided cord that I always run over with my chair), I may get another pair if I don't find anything better.
Haha, you're not an audiophile if you're using a gaming headset..What's your budget?
Which Sennheiser should I go with that is ~$100? I also need a mic for it.
Haha, you're not an audiophile if you're using a gaming headset..What's your budget?
Budget really could be whatever I want, but I wouldn't want to spend $1000 on a set.
Also, I bought some $200 headphones once and the quality was the same as my headset. Maybe I just don't know of a good brand/set but believe me I have an obsession with high quality audio ;)

I'm wearing the MDR-XB300's. They are like fucking pillows on your head. Everyone needs a pair. I'm possible going to be buying the XB700's soon.

I have decided to go with the Shure SRH240M+, they are a decent price, and you've all said Shure is pretty good. They look super comfortable, lots of rooms for my ears, and they've got an in-line microphone that I can try out.
Anything to say before I buy them?
And is this the good microphone you all say to get? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00029MTMQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER
Rate me Agree for Sennheiser HD558 and Disagree for Sennheiser HD595
Got the Denon D-1100:s, sound about a million times better with some EQ. (lowering the bass-mids and adding some deep bass and highs)
Budget really could be whatever I want, but I wouldn't want to spend $1000 on a set.

If you have an obsession with high quality audio, you would of sampled different headphones and chosen the best sounding one, not the Steelseries 7H.
Any gaming headset will be overpriced compared to an equivalent studio-quality brand like Sennheiser, Grado, Audio-Technica, etc.
Also, saying you bought "$200 headphones once" and having the quality "the same as your headset" does not mean anything. You could of bought $350 Beats by Dr. Dre that are out-matched by $80 Sennheisers. Price does not mean good.
In short: When looking at headphones, choose dedicated audio brands like Sennheiser and get the Zalmann clip-on mic that everyone else uses, or just go the really cheapo method and just get a desktop mic from your local store.
Brands like Razer, Steelseries and Logitech just capitalize on the gaming name when it comes to headphones. (They make good everything else!)
Anything from HD555s to HD800s to PS1000s will blow gaming headphones out of the water.

I didn't have an obsession with audio when I bought my Steelseries 7H. It's something that came afterwards which is when I bought my $200 audio card, and tried out those other headphones. My Steelseries are broken now, so I'm going to do some research and get a pair of high quality headphones along with an external microphone.
I've heard a lot of shit about external microphones, they pick up every sound, they don't really have direction like a headset would give. Is there any external microphones that don't suffer from these sort of problems?
Well I got the Audio-Technica A700s yesterday and they're pretty nice, although in Source games the sound feels more "distant" now.
They're pretty comfortable as many have mentioned as well.

You get what you pay for, I just bought a $50 microphone and it will arrive tomorrow or Saturday.

Really? Directional mics aren't hard to get, also if it picks up every sound you can just lower the gains so it just gets your voice. Aka turn off mic boost.
