Go for it, Make sure their not fake by checking if there is a serial on the plastic battery cover.
They're not fake. from the monster site. 130 for white studios and 150 for black refurbished
the zalman clip on mic blows holy responses batman
Okay thanks, Do you happen to know any other good clip-on Mics or something similar to that? Also, What are unamped headphones?
They're not fake. from the monster site. 130 for white studios and 150 for black refurbished
Don't buy them, you can still do better for the price.
Sennheiser HD 202 Dynamic Headphones - picked these up a few months ago and was stunned at their quality. Top notch headphones for those on a budget. 27$ on Amazon Features Closed, long fucking cord and comes with a clip to wind it around (when I say long I mean really long, you NEED the clip if you want to manage the wires at all Sound Best sounding headphones I've ever had, which isn't saying a lot but listening to music through these is a whole different experience, the quality is superb, the bass is heavy and treble crisp. I use them for everything from gaming to music to TV and movies and they're spectacular on all counts. Comfort They get a little uncomfortable after a few hours but, overall, definitely not too bad, even the discomfort isn't too much of an issue. Feel great for the first few hours. Adjustable for size. Conclusion These headphones are fucking incredible for their price, I'm now a Sennheiser man. If you want cheap headphones that sound sublime, I can point you no further than these bad boys. Pros -Great quality; incredible clarity -Cheap as hell Cons -Cord is too long -Get uncomfortable after extended period of time.
I have a pair of HD202s. They sound pretty decent, although they're very bass-heavy (not really my taste). You really can't complain at that price, though. Much better than a lot of the alternatives. The build quality is pretty good, although did have to re-solder wires a few times during the time I was using them. One thing though, which I'd like to reiterate, is they can get very uncomfortable. Like they'd seriously make my head/ears hurt after using them for a while.
Okay thanks, Do you happen to know any other good clip-on Mics or something similar to that? Also, What are unamped headphones?
I don't know much about headphones. I'd assume unamped headphones require an external amp, though I'm probably wrong. Get a desktop microphone. I think one of the Logitech USB ones is decent. You can also do the mod that Odellus did, which is attaching a boom mic to headphones.
hmm, remember to drop the headset in water because if it survives its good. Water is infinite and it will soon or maybe later swallow everything it sees, and if you have a headset with doesn't die when water swallows it you can keep listening to good songs while you drown.
Useful list, thanks :) Getting these even though they aren't mentioned there specifically, but can't argue with 61% off :P http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0022NHI30/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
Just arrived - sound quality and bass are amazing, especially for the price. (Sounds vastly better than the CX300 for comparison.) A really good choice for IEMs in the UK, though a black permanent marker is necessary to 'fix' the pink spots on the cable (:v:) which are conveniently not shown on the amazon images.
http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-MK-II-Earbuds-Carrying/dp/B001EZYMF4 I've had some Sennheiser CX-300 earbuds for a few months and they're really really nice. There's like a million different variations of the headphones so i'm not even sure if that link what I ordered (especially because mine were $26), but regardless it's Sennheiser and they make great stuff. The sound quality is amazing, it's really bass heavy (the bass response is great, not just kick bass) but it's highs are still better than any other earbuds i've listened to (although i am not an audiophile so dont diss me if they aren't PERFECT HIGHS). Doing a direct comparison of this to skullcandy or sony earbuds (which are all anyone else buys ever), these blow them out of the water and cost about the same. Of course it's not for people who want amazing home sound, but for headphones I carry around all the time they're easy to carry (it comes with a little purse!) and have great sound isolation and quality. [editline]19th May 2011[/editline]
What do you guys think of the Bose AE2s? They're only 135 dollars at Best Buy (on sale). Do they sound good? Are they worth the money? Or should I go with something else? I don't want Sennheisers, too bulky.
Bose sells shit, at least for speakers. Even if their headphones are decent I wouldn't trust them. Sennheiser may be bulky but they're universally acclaimed to make good headphones.
What's a nice sounding, comfortable headset? Comfort is more important to me than sound, although I would like some sound that is better than basic headphones. Preferably something with a good microphone too. I want audiophile headphones, but I can't do without a headset, and a desktop microphone or clip-on aren't sufficient for me.
anybody?
Budget: Nothing over $60 eBay: Mom's an eBay master so that is a good option, Newegg preferred though so she can get her "points" :v: Country: U.S. Isolation: Open Purpose: Music mostly, and a bit of gaming (Music 80%, gaming 10%, Skype 10%) Music tastes: Dragonforce type music, techno, drum & bass (mostly Pendulum), mostly anything with high bass besides dubstep I've heard a lot of good about Sennheiser. Just sayin'.
Still need something on this, I have no clue what to get...

Guys. How are these? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-MDR-V150-Headphones-Reversible-Monitoring/dp/B00005QBU9/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Is it just me or did I not realise that the JVC marshmallow had two sets of earbuds, not for backup but one is Small and one is Medium. [editline]21st May 2011[/editline] I kept thinking my ear had changed shape everytime I switched them [editline]21st May 2011[/editline]
Still need something on this, I have no clue what to get...
HD555
Budget: Hopefully in the single digits, maybe below $60 Ebay: Sure Country: U.S. Isolation: Closed Purpose: Gaming: 80%; Music: 20% Music Tastes: Nothing in particular Misc: Please no attached headphones, but I would like some form of volume control built in (not a necessity). They must be around ear so that they don't press down on my ear.
HD555
Kinda... Breaks my price quote but I guess some sacrifice is needed.
anybody?
Can you give a budget?
Great thread idea. you might want to consider adding the Creative Aurvana Live! to your list. They seem to be well liked at head-fi and I love mine. I'm unfimiliar with your currency, so you might want to look at prices yourself.
Planning to get this. http://www.amazon.ca/Grado-SR80i-Prestige-Headphones-Black/dp/B000G3LCQC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1306126732&sr=8-2 but is there a way to mod the headphones so it's more comfortable? I want to replace the cushion with something more better then foam.
Budget: $60 Can you use Ebay: Nope. Country: USA Isolation: Open Purpose: 40% gaming, 60% music (Rammstein, Weezer, electronica all forms)
going uptown in a few minutes, if they dont have any spark plugs, which ones should i get?
two words. Razer megalodon. Not for the fucking 7.1 viritual surround but for the 2.1. Its just simply the best headset I've ever had. The bass is amazing, and you adjust the "Speakers" inside the cup with the external sound card it comes with. And trust me I've tried some sennheisers over the years and this one is worth the money.. :signings:
I can imagine it being hard to sleep with a pair of those, and i want to avoid razer at all costs.
Nope. I even forget that i have them on sometimes when i get out of my chair.
Also, 175$ My own morality budget is about 25-30$. In-ear.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a new headset? I've been letting my brother borrow my G330s, and our cat decided to chew the cord in half, so now I need a new pair.
You can fix cords easily...
You can fix cords easily...
Yeah, but once it's fixed I'm letting my brother have it. He needs one for his light use on the computer so that way we both have a headset.
Budget: $60 Gaming: 60 percent Music: 30 percent (daft punk, rock, alternative, soundtracks) Movies: 5 percent Foray into Foley artistry (aka I'm trying to learn to make sound effects): 5 percent I was looking at the Sennheiser HD 205 that's listed in the thread. Would those be good? Headphones are extremely hard to shop for, but I got lucky the last two times with the quality (though I'd think audiophiles would disagree).
If some of you are looking for good, extremely cheap studio monitors. Superflux is the way. http://www.superlux.com.tw/index.do Its a cheap chinese product with cheap plasticky feel (Just take care of it and its okay) but the sound quality is as good as a Beyerdynamic BT990. I've tried them, and I am quite impressed.
