Are they worth it over 555's?
Hard to say, I've heard they're better but you can get a pair of 555's heavily discounted due to being discontinued by Sennheiser and all. I would love to get my hands on a pair of modded 555's to compare against my modded 558's, I'd be sure to post here if I ever get the opportunity. [editline]27th July 2011[/editline]
Can anyone recommend a good external microphone? Ideally for use with skype and ingame voice chat.
Trust MC-1200 seems to be what people are recommending in this thread.
suggestions please budget: £30-£40 (roughly $50-$65) don't really wanna use ebay UK in terms of isolation not too bothered, but will go with open if i get more for my money main purpose is music, mainly hip/hop and dubstep but also metal
I powered these cans through my Onkyo receiver and..well I think my head exploded from awesomeness. The music told me; "Armotekma, your soundcard is terrible you should buy another receiver and use me." So, that's exactly what I am doing
Ok I have a bunch more money and a new look on what I want so here we go again: Budget- Less than $150 is ideal, but I can go up to $200. Preferably closed, but might take open if they're better. Mostly using for gaming, with some music use (mostly rock, a bit of electronica, nothing like metal).
Alright, I've got three pairs of headphones narrowed down. I would prefer to go with the HD515s, but if the difference is great enough between them, the ATH-AD700s and the HD555's, than I am fine with dishing out the extra cash. Thanks guys :)
If you get the AD700s, keep in mind they have a deficiency of bass. Forget about the 515 as well, just dish the extra cash for higher end models.
Try to find a cheap 558.
anyone had any experience/knowledge of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-Closed-Back-Stereo-Headphones-Dynamic/dp/B002DGTGNG/ref=sr_1_32?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1311800145&sr=1-32
So I've decided that I'm going to buy the Audio Technica ATH-AD700. Primarily for gaming. Also, I have a silly question: How long is the cord? If it's longer than 1.25 meters, I should be good. Also, would it be a good idea to buy from Amazon?

I need some good portable headphones for my ipod (walking, bus, general use), ones with good sound but lightweight and preferably little-no sound leak. Any recommendations? Type: closed, supra-aural Budget: ~$40ish
FUCK took months but it finally arrived today :buddy: [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/lvsje.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/A8G0P.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/myFFB.jpg[/thumb] sure it looks cheap but the sound (+Bass) is awesome
Hey guys I found this sound card in some old dell pc. The pcb says "Sound Blaster Live!" the chip says Creative Envriomental audio EMU10K1X-DBQ The copyright says 2002. Does anyone know if this is a good card? It's old as fuck as you can tell.
I finally ordered my HD 598s, but now I need a mic as well. I could order the zalman clip-on, but how well do desktop mics handle (e.g. the Logitech one with the on/off button)? My main concern is being able to lean back in my chair while still being audible (aka not having to speak directly into the mic), and without worry about background noise fucking with clarity. Anyway, I could use some microphone recommendations for gaming use.

Does anyone know if there's a way that I can make Creative Fatalities work on an Xbox 360 as well? I was about to order a Steelseries adapter, but it's too far from here. I haven't bought the Fatalities yet, so if you can find a headset that works on both the PC and the Xbox with good sound quality for 30-40 dollars, tell me.

When the people who know something about audio get here they'll agree and be able to explain better then I ever could.
Alrighty. I've had a good past with them, that's all :v:
I've been interested in buying the Sony MDR-V6 headphones, since I've heard great things about them. Is there anything better in that price range, or should I just stick with buying them?
I've been interested in buying the Sony MDR-V6 headphones, since I've heard great things about them. Just purchased the Audio Technica ATH-M50s (straight cord version) since the price dropped $20 or so. I got the super saver shipping which was free but it's 5-8 days. I'll let you guys know. It should be here either friday or next week.
So i've came here with a few questions: 1. Can you guys also help me pick a mic? 2. If i would want to start doing let's plays etc. Do i need a headphone to prevent the mic from picking up sound from my speakers?
So i've came here with a few questions: 1. Can you guys also help me pick a mic? 2. If i would want to start doing let's plays etc. Do i need a headphone to prevent the mic from picking up sound from my speakers?
1. for how much, and how much desk space is available? you could get a clip on, a desk mic, or a boom arm + mic, but it depends on the quality you're looking for, the type of setup, and your budget. I'd say you could get a boom + stand for $20 + a decent mic for $20 or more and you'd be good, or you could just get a >$10 clip on or desk mic. 2. depends on the volume, type of mic, your speaking volume, and its proximity to your mouth. I keep my microphone within 12 inches from my mouth and dampen a lot of background noise with a -10 db pad.
This is my desk right now: (That's a 11" laptop next to a 23" monitor for comparison) As you can see i think a boom wont be possible because my room is on the attic, My speakers are positioned right behind the monitor. For the quality there's no need for super high quality, i just want something where you can properly hear me without crackling etc. Budget is about 50 euro max (Maybe a bit more) and i'm able to buy off ebay. (Needs to be shipped to Netherlands). If possible buy from www.alternate.nl because i will be buying my pc from there soon and that way i can combine shipping. I'll be using the intergrated audio on the Asus P8Z68-V Pro motherboard. I won't be using the headset for listening to music. Like i said i only need them if they improve recording quality. (Most things i will be doing will probably be live)
-snip-
words
considering that http://www.alternate.nl/html/categoryListing.html?cat1=157&cat2=0&cat3=0&&tn=HARDWARE&l1=Geluid&l2=Microfoons& seems to be the entire selection on the site, it's probably not a good idea to get it from there. The trust microphone would probably be the best, and it probably would fit your needs fine.
But then would i have to purchase a headset to prevent the mic from recording game audio too?
Once again, because my posts here always seem to be missed. Is there any sort of good quality headphone that works on both the 360 and the PC for about 30-40 dollars?
Once again, because my posts here always seem to be missed. I'm just looking for some headphones for my phone and iPod for watching youtube videos and listening to some music.
Video: 60% Music: 40%
I found some CX 200's on Amazon.com for $24 and I think its a good deal, should I get them? And I'm also not one to get crazy over sound quality and stuff.
