I was looking at the Sennheiser HD 205 that's listed in the thread. Would those be good? Headphones are extremely hard to shop for, but I got lucky the last two times with the quality (though I'd think audiophiles would disagree).
205's kill your ears after a couple of hours.
Now i'm really confused, what's the difference between the Koss Sparkplug, The Plug & Pathfinder except price?
205's kill your ears after a couple of hours.
So do my current and last headphones, but after awhile I've gotten used to them.
used these for over a year now, and your ears REALLY hurt after using them, sound's decent, but almost no bass.
two words. Razer megalodon. Not for the fucking 7.1 viritual surround but for the 2.1. Its just simply the best headset I've ever had. The bass is amazing, and you adjust the "Speakers" inside the cup with the external sound card it comes with.
And trust me I've tried some sennheisers over the years and this one is worth the money.. :signings:
Preferably earbuds. I have Sennheiser CX200's, but they are literally falling apart after 3 - 4 months :saddowns: They didn't sound the greatest either, looking for a little bit better. Thanks :buddy:
I'm looking at these, but I'm no audiophile so I have no idea on what to get or what not to get.
Budget: ~$50 (can push for $60 if necessary)
Can you use Ebay: Yes, but would prefer a different site/seller
Country: USA
Isolation: Open/no preference
Purpose: 95% music, 5% gaming
Musical Tastes: Heavy fucking metal Example 1 Example 2 Example 3
I'm essentially looking for headphones with extremely good quality for the kind of music I listen to, so anything that can handle the extreme bass and the tonality of highs/mids that are locked into it when it comes to metal.

If you max out the volume and enable boost, this microphone gives great quality and range (will pick up sound from several feet away with decent quality).
Works perfectly in both my Xonar DX and onboard Realtek HD, and much more convenient than a clip-on or boom microphone.
they were probably fake
Pretty sure they're real, I just abuse them by shoving them into my pocket :c

Just ordered these, they should be here tomorrow providing the stupid storms here in the north east don't blow them away. :buddy:
My AD700s arrived today and I've had a few hours to play with them in music and vidya games.

I don't think there are many great headphones at that price; check out this nifty thread:

Finally got a sound card for my AD700's (Xonar DX) and i have to say the difference is massive, and these headphones are still the most comfortable things ever.

Yeah I just got my Xonar DG (and a whole new PC) and it sounds awesome.
Just added a Fiio E5 between my Xonar DX and AD700. With a bit of bass EQ + bass boost on the Fiio, holy shit they literally vibrate while still maintaining the same level of quality and great mids/highs/soundstage they are known for.

If anything I would prefer to have a mic onboard, but in worse case scenario I'll grab a clip or do some ducktape modding. Shoot my way gents'
Fuck me.
I was at Wal-Mart for some soda and I decided I might as well buy a pair of earbuds. I ended up buying Koss KE29's for $24. Huge fucking mistake. They sound TERRIBLE. They sound like $2 earbuds you'd pick up at a convenience store. I thought maybe if I used a bigger cushion (it came with 3 sizes), it'd sound better.
Can't get the damn thing on. Seriously, what the fuck do I do FP. I leave for Pennsylvania tomorrow. I have no entertainment other than my iPod. I'm driving. 48 hours. FOURTY-EIGHT HOURS :saddowns: My only other pair (Sennheiser CX 200s) are slightly broken (you have to push down on them to sound right).

They can't sound that bad, are you sure they're fully in and sealed?
They can't sound that bad, are you sure they're fully in and sealed?
Positive. They feel really cheap, too. Super thin wires, plastic, etc. They're pretty damn bad for costing $2 less than my CX 200s
Try returning them, say you're dissatisfied.
Try returning them, say you're dissatisfied.
The problem is that I need another pair of good sounding earbuds by tomorrow.
[editline]27th May 2011[/editline]
So it turns out I'm a moron and these are a little below CX 200 quality.
you're the dumbest motherfucker who ever lived
Chill out kid.
Should I be using the dolby headphone thing on my soundcard? I'm always sceptical about dumb 5.1 headphone things. I'm gonna try it out.
