Well if you are getting a pair of sennheisers I hear they are usually fairly tight on your head but you can leave them stretched over something slightly larger than your head and then they are really comfortable.
Not all sennheisers, my 558's where comfy as hell first time I put them on. The 380 pro's I had before though gave me quite severe headaches when worn longer than 30 minutes.

How are the Sony MDR V6s?
Can someone recommend me a headset? Budget : 60$ Country: USA Isolation: Preferably closed Purpose: A balance between music and gaming. Something good all around. 40% Gaming, 10% movie, 50% music. Musical tastes: Check my last.fm account. Mainly electronic and thrash metal. My main priority is something that will last a long time and is very reliable. My last 3 headsets broke within a few months of use. A microphone is not necessary, since I already have one, but if you find one for me that does have one that's a big bonus mainly because my current one is p crappy. Another thing I would like is the ability to use it on my PS3 too. I found my old turtle beach worked on both my pc and ps3 very well along with my 360 and I would like something like that
I know it's a headphones thread, but if anyone happens to know of a good headset for pc gaming I'd be really grateful. Or a good headphone+mic combo? Either way, here goes Budget: up to 100-110 euros Can you use Ebay: yes for european sellers only (preferably UK) Country: Portugal (UK shops are ok too) Isolation: doesn't matter. If open is cheapest, then open. Purpose: 100% gaming Thanks!
What are those cheap AKG that are really good? They were around $30-40 [editline]21st August 2011[/editline] i think its the akg k240 [editline]21st August 2011[/editline] nope its http://www.amazon.com/Superlux-681-Dynamic-Semi-Open-Headphones/dp/B002GHIPYI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1313968761&sr=1-1 superluxe HD 581 [editline]21st August 2011[/editline] just going with the JVC HARX700 then [editline]21st August 2011[/editline] Purchased.

Budget: Up to £50 Can you use Ebay: Just, Amazon. Country: UK Isolation: Not bothered, as long as it has the best sound. Purpose: Mainly gaming, films and music too.
Budget: about 500 kr / 50 euro Country: Sweden Isolation: Some isolation would be preferable. Both open and in-ear is fine though. Purpose: For music listening with my phone. You needn't include the price of a microphone in my budget. I'll just buy a clip-on as recommended. It's important that they're durable. I want to be able to fold them together and jam them into my (fairly big) jacket's pocket. I'm listening to Ska-punk, hardcore, punk rock. All ranging between Streetlight Manifesto and Minor Threat. I'm hoping to be able to order from inet.se Which one of these do you think would fit me? They all fit within my budget. AKG K512 (slightly cheaper than the rest) AKG K518 DJ AKG K518 LE Sennheiser CX300 II Precision (Half price at the moment, 25 euros) Sennheiser CX400 II Precision Koss iPortaPro is also an alternative. [edit] I also don't want them to fall off when I'm out jogging :<
Is Sennheiser CX300 II Precision actually durable? This is my first time considering buying non-chinese headphones. They usually stop working after month or two.
This thread needs more people who know about headphones.
Got my heart set (or head) on these JVC HA-RX900: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0019H5Z76?redirect=true&ref_=s9_simh_gw_p23_d0_g23_i1 Anyone had an experience of them? Also, do you HAVE to buy to Squaretrade warranty with the product? Or can it be purchased at a later time? Just as if I get these headphones now, I wouldn't be able to get the warranty until 3-4 weeks.
HARX900 are better for gaming apparently, but HARX700 sound better
Wait, what? :v: How come they'd be better for gaming if they don't have the best sound? Just wondering. Apparently some complained about there not being any real deep bass for the 700's, might play it safe with the 900's now as the bass is quite good. What would be the best headphones for under £75? I mean I could boost my budget when my next student loan comes in.

I just bought the HARX700 yesterday and did a bit of research on them, I got them because Head Fi seems to think they sound like $200 ATH-A900 but people say they have really high bass, so I don't quite know where you heard that. Maybe whoever said that is used to really bassy headphones. If you like bass, Sony's XB line might be something to look at (XB700, 500 or 300) but it's artificially high. [img]http://graphs.headphone.com/graphCompare.php?graphType=0&graphID[]=1293&graphID[]=1153&graphID[]=1193&graphID[]=1963[/img] blegh that just disgusts me, the lows are as high as Beats Solo, but people seem to love that.

Also, Amazon has the 700's at 3*, 900's at 4.5* but i'm unsure. How big a difference is the sound quality between the two? Would the Creative Aurvana Live be better? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-51EF0060AA001-Aurvana-Live-Headphones/dp/B000W6Y0JY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1314052695&sr=8-3
Creative Aurvana Live are good headphones, they're pretty much a remake of Denon AH-D1001
Is Sennheiser CX300 II Precision actually durable? This is my first time considering buying non-chinese headphones. However, I can buy the 3 year warranty. [editline]23rd August 2011[/editline] Heh, could just treat myself. Don't see myself doing anything much until mid-september when I return to university, gotta buy some more clothes is only thing ;P I'll just push to get these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-MDRXB700-Giant-Headphones-Driver/dp/B001UE6PE0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1314060060&sr=8-2 They're good? Read one of your replies mentioning they were. Difference between them and the £25 cheaper ones? I think these look bigger.

The 700's are the size of CD's, where as my XB300's are the size of Gamecube disks.

The 1000's are about the same, if not a little bigger than a CD. Got the 500's myself, love them. Only down sides is it can get a little warm on your ears and they leak like no headphones I've ever heard has leaked before, even on a low volume you can almost use them as speakers, I would not wear these out of my house (which I wouldn't anyway considering the size and how easily I feel self conscious).

Budget: 100-120$ Ebay? If it comes down to it, yeah sure. Country: USA Isolation: Closed, no in-ear please. Purpose: Games: 70% Movies/TV: 5% Music (bass heavy most of the time): 20% Skype: 5% Oh, and right now i have a a pair of MDR-V6's and a pair of MDR-V7's.
It might be that I did the mod, it's almost certainly in part due to using the integrated sound card, but I feel my HD558's are a bit weak`/unclear/muddy in the midrange. Boosting that with an EQ just a tidbit makes it sound way better, any 558/598 owners agree/disagree?
So does anyone recommend me parting with £64.78 on these XB700's then? :v:
Ended up getting them. Shame I didn't order 5 minutes before I did, would be by wednesday 1pm with the free trial of one delivery i'm on. Thursday it is.

It's probably just an estimation. Mine was very soon after, anyway gives me hope!
Anyone have any thoughts on the Sennheiser PC 350s?
Anyone with 7506's or MDR-V6's. http://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-Velour-Earcushions-MDR7506-Headphones/dp/B0016MF7W2 Buy these. Sound is over all, way better and it's way more comfy then stock earcushions.
