Anyone have any thoughts on the Sennheiser PC 350s?
It's sennheiser so it's going to be at the very least decent and by no means a bad choice but it's a headset so you're paying out your ass for the little piece of plastic that holds the microphone to the headphones. Buying headphones and microphone separately almost always means you get more for your money.
My AD700 wire has tangled itself up and keeps twisting itself, I need to undo it to wear them and that damages the rubber on the wire, is there anything I can do about it besides replacing the entire wire?

If your cord is actually going to hell just from twisting, I would suggest taking better care of it. Otherwise I think you need to send it in. Speaking of AD700's, would I need a sound card for it? Or can I get a good chunk of its potential just through the onboard?

The rubbers somewhat deformed on the ends where it does that which sorta bugs me but I don't know that it actually matters.

Also, it will prevent you pulling the wire inside of the headphone too.
This is why I love coiled cords.
My MDRXB500's use a flat cord to prevent tangling and other stuff, why don't all headphones use this? I mean surely it must be pretty easy to do and is just so convenient.
Okay my MDRXB700's arrived just before, very nice. Just put on "Fast Five" and the bass just feels like you're in the cinemas. The mid is a bit weak and wire is shorter than expected. It does feel like I need to boost the treble as the bass takes over a bit, so to turn up and hear the vocals on films you have to increase the bass too. Is there a way I can boost the treble of my headphones? It feels like it can't tangle, not because of it being flat but because of the shortness :v: But it is very nice i'll admit; something that needs to be implemented a lot more.
What would you guys recommend me? Budget is £80-100 preferably. Usage 50% games, 25% music 25% movies. Preferably fairly balanced audio-wise. Also I don't have an amp, so bear that in consideration.
Probably MH A50 or something, I forgot, seems to be pretty well loved in the £100 range.
Okay, updated my sound drivers. Sound doesn't seem to be as loud now, but the treble's increased, bass has gone down a bit if I can get that sorted again. EDIT: Minus that, Bass seems not as overpowering now.

ATH-M50s is sweet as fuck
Need help. I have an AMD on-board sound but also realtek drivers installed ages ago, from Call of Duty 4 not loading as it required them for some reason. I had a hissing sound in all my audio devices so I upgraded to the latest Realtek drivers, however some options are missing in the sound properties like the EQ, etc. Also, my sound has gone considerably low and the bass is not as good anymore! D: [editline]25th August 2011[/editline] Also, any way to boost the mids on these MDRXB700's?

Also use an equalizer.
Use driver cleaner in safe mode to remove any and all audio drivers then reinstall by using windows update. Also use an equalizer.
Any idea which equalizer? My windows default one seems to have disappeared. Also, what frequencies would I be boosting?
Any idea which equalizer? My windows default one seems to have disappeared. Also, what frequencies would I be boosting?
300hz-1k. Boost around 3dB to 6dB. It will vary

Ah, wait. The headphones seem fine, if not better. I ticked "Loudness Equalization" and it seemed to go back to what it should be. "Bass boost" gives me the original insane bass they had before, but unticking gives me still good enough bass that it isn't overpowering the mids and speech etc. In fact, I can hear speech more clearly when "bass boost" is unticked. I can still hear with it ticked, which I will have for films etc, so I do get the best of both. Just, television shows like comedies and so on don't require the added bass.

I don't see how you could even want the extra added bass with those, and I'm glad you got them or you'd have been pretty disappointed with HARX700 or 900. The bass in these is pretty powerful but anything more would be far too much, and I plan on doing the mod to them which reduces bass.
Need a full list of why skull candy is shit so I can skip having someone tell me that they are all the rage and I should buy them. It's a New Zealand thing, we are two years behind everyone else and it's getting fucking annoying.

Other then the fact that they break easily, you don't know they're shit till you've listened to a good pair of cans.
Mr. Agree, for reference these are my current settings for my XBR500's: Here's a setting for making your dubstep friends jealous, it seriously vibrates your head:

Also, the "Loudness Equalization" setting annoys me a bit. I find having it ticked, you get the louder volume for your music but stuff like Youtube is quiet, so you have to untick it to make that loud, etc.
Your sound drivers should have an equalizer, mine's a Xonar DG so I have the Asus ones and they work just fine. Most people have realtek (the integrated stuff) so check out what your motherboard is or sound card and go from there. Also there's software equalizers, foobar has one for example. If I put the bass in both driver and foobar's equalizers I can make the headphones vibrate across the desk. Probably not good for its health though.
Budget: 100 USD Can you use Ebay: Sure Country: United States Isolation: Yes. Purpose: Gaming and music Would like a headset more than just headphones to be honest, but a separate mic is okay too.
Is there much benefit from having a headphone amp? Right now I have a Senn PC360 headset plugged into my mobo and I was wondering if an amp would improve listening to music (I don't care about things like positional audio for games). I wouldn't mind some recommendations for ones <= $100, but if the difference is negligible I'll probably put my money elsewhere.
