Not a whole lot quality wise, but bass/volume wise they can be miracles, it depends completely
on the headphones and their impedance/ohms.
For the 360 their should be a difference, you should get a Xonar DG or similar, great sound cards (you'll hear a definite sound quality increase
over your integrated) and they come with a built-in headphone amplifier upto 64ohms for the XG which is more than needed for your 360's.

Thinking about upgrading my computer's sound. Right now I'm using a Steelseries Siberia V2 and an integrated sound-card :<
Gaming: 40%

Do you think the Sennheiser HD-518 West for 110 euros or the HD-558 West for 150 are worth their price?
I live in Sweden so everything's ridicously expensive.
What sound card do you think goes well with a headset in this price-range? The first posts seem to recommend an X-Fi for me.
Creative Sound Blaster X-fi Titanium OEM for 80 euro?
X-Fi Xtreme Audio for 40?
X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro for 130? :O

Xonar for headphones. The Xonar DG is great for its price, or something like the DX if you don't need an amp and want a bit better quality.

Xonar DX added to my shopping cart.
The store I'm ordering from has a "gaming bundle". Xonar Xense One and Sennheiser PC 350 Xense.
I know what you think about things with gaming in it, but is this a good buy for 220 instead of what I've decided so far?
On an unrelated note I feel like sending Asus an angry e-mail complaining about naming their soundcards "Xense".
For some reason, the left headphone ear on mine is slightly louder than the right one.. very slightly. I'm not sure if it's my hearing though..
Never mind, I turned the headphones around, feels the same. It's my hearing :suicide: Left one feels a bit more clear, right is bit bassier.
Just, hearing each side individually it sounds the same but when both on, left sounds a bit more clearer and slightly louder..
Bought a pair of Sennheiser CX-150 in-ear earbuds for 20 bucks at FYE yesterday. Wonderful quality for the price, it was nice to find them on sale too. I'm guessing it's where they're an older series and all, but $20 as compared to the $70 original price made it so I could pass them up. I already love them more than my old MX series.
Okay, just rate funny instead of explaining anything.
I'm thinking of returning these MDRXB700's with my student loan coming mid-september. They have incredible bass but the mids don't seem to cut it for me especially considering rock is more my thing. The cable is way too short, that I have to plug it into my crappy speakers to reach. I think Amazon will charge like £4-5 for delivery if it isn't damaged.
Does anyone recommend any headphones that have very crisp sound, but nice bass too that isn't too overpowering for under £100?

I think buying them for rock was your first mistake, you can however get a 3.5mm adapter (I use the one
my siberias came with) if it's an issue.
Settled on a HD598, what do you guys think? It's $180.
[QUOTE=vexx21322;32013149]Is the creative fatal1ty a good headset for $30?

never buy fatal1ty, mine broke after 3 months
Alright so I've got a bit of a weird question here, I'm no audio expert in any way and I'm probably one of the guys who thinks something like the Beats By Dre sound incredible because I've never heard better or however you guys say it.
Now this is the case I've got a Beats By Dre studio, What I like about it is the warm sound and the bass. And before you say anything, Yeah it's overpriced ect ect. But what I want to ask here is is it worth buying a Sennheiser HD-25 II to replace it? In my point of view that is, Will it satisfy my warm sound and bass requirement ect?
AKA. Worth upgrading from Beats By Scam Studio to one of the following
Sennheiser HD-25 II
Ultrasone HFI 580
Beyerdynamic DT 770
?
Is it just Senheiser in-ear headphones that break after only two months of use, or do all in-ear headphones get stressed really easily sitting in your pocket? I don't want to pay $70 to listen to music if it's only for eight weeks.

I'd love for it to have a mic since I'll be gaming with it for the most part.

The Audio Techica's AD700s are really good for the price. They do lack a bit a bass but you can compensate for it with a sound card like the Asus Xonar DG. You can get them with the zalman clip on mic for $100.14 on Amazon. The AD700's are amazingly comfortable.

Thanks for the quick reply. Managed to find the AD700s, mic, and Asus Xonar DG on Amazon for $130.

Even though I'll recommend many headphones over the Beats, there's absolutely nothing wrong with purchasing a set of headphones that match the frequency response that you prefer.
If you already own the Beats and you like them just keep them! "Better" headphones will basically give you a flatter frequency response, which you aren't interested in. I don't see much point in purchasing another set of headphones and then simply EQing them to match the Beats.
That said, if you like the general response of the beats but still have a few problems with them, such as the complete drop-off of bass frequencies below 30 Hz, then the Beyerdynamic DT770 would be your best choice for improved quality while maintaining some of the same bassy sound signature (the other 'phones you listed are much more neutral).
If you're looking to save money, go with the Sony MDR-XB300 which basically have the same response as the beats (after a little EQ to the top end) for ~$30.

beats studio are a lot flatter than you're thinking, XB300 are more comparable to a beats solo
Well money is not an issue, So I think that the DT770 would be a good choice then. But aren't there perhaps more expensive headphones with the kind of sound I'm looking for?
About to order now,
Beyerdynamic DT 770
or Sennheiser HD-25 II?
if money isn't a issue you could get HD 650s or something similar
I've just gotten £200 and I'm thinking about getting the MDR-XB1000's (£190) but I'm not sure.
I already have the MDR-XB500's and I love them, anyone have any experience with the 1000's?
Okay I've broke 2 headsets now, a pair of Steelseries 4H and Creative Fatal1ty headset.
I'm thinking though, I'm not sure if I want a headset, maybe I should get a good pair of headphones and a desktop microphone instead? But I have no idea what to get.
I've been looking around at some of these fancy surround headsets and they look cool and all, but I'm not sure what to get. I'm looking for something of decent (not hardcore) quality now but atleast under 150 pounds/euros, preferbly under 100.
[editline]31st August 2011[/editline]
I'm doing like 95% gaming and chatting and 5% music.
After thinking and searching some more, The MDR-XB1000 seems like a great option. How much better would it be then a Dre Studio?
[editline]31st August 2011[/editline]
I don't know anymore, I'm just looking for headphones that pack a punch of bass while keeping quality ect. And I'm willing to spend a maximum of 300 euro's (Roughly 430 USD)
Headphones I've been looking at :
-MDR-XB1000
-Beyerdynamic DT 770
-Sennheiser HD-25 II
Djessey, I've gotten the money to get the 1000's and have been looking at reviews and opinions all night and the general
census seems to be they're not worth the hefty price tag.
They're only very slightly better than the XB700's and the mid's are drowned out.
[editline]1st September 2011[/editline]
And just as I wrote that my dutch friend bought me some XB700's for being a good friend.
I love dutch people.

Well, I just bought the XB700 and I must say they are incredible. And on top of that way better then the beats.
