Maybe I'm in need of new pair of headphones. I've managed to break my current ones (Shure SRH-440) twice (fixed once) and I'm getting tired of their plasticness. Sound quality is great though. ...sigh.

[editline]1st September 2011[/editline] Oh, they do. They just look so small in pictures. [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] I think I'm still going for something else, something that isolates sound well. [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] I could get HD555's --- nope. [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] After reading some reviews, I might get SR60/80 after all. The only concern is about the sound leakage. I'm not worried about my music leaking outside but all other noises coming from there. Will my computer's fan noise get through? [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] I found a pair of AKG k 240 MK II's for 100€. I've read good reviews of them. Would they sound fine through my Asus Xonar DG?

Thinking about getting the Sennheiser HD448s. Any opinions? 50% of what I do is music, 40% gaming, 10% movies.

So I got my AD-700s. Love em, though I just plug them into my integrated sound card on my mobo. Does a sound card really make that much of a difference like holy shit buy one now? [editline]1st September 2011[/editline] Also I heard that you can break in headphones by letting them play music 24 hours for a few days. Does this do anything?
[QUOTE=drummerundrcovr;32068892]how's the bass on those? and would you recommend anything else over them?[/QUOTE] I don't really recommend using them straight from an integrated sound card. They're really loud and there was no bass or whatsoever. Plugging them to a speaker system or amplifier really boosts the sound. Even the bass sounds great (at least okay) after amplification, maybe a little tweaking of the equalizer is needed. I really liked these but as they were my first headphones I can't really compare them to anything else. If I get different pairs soon my opinion might change. [editline]2nd September 2011[/editline] They're also quite heavy

[B] Does a sound card really make that much of a difference like holy shit buy one now?[/B] [/QUOTE] Yes. UNLESS your mobo is something along the line of an Asus which has decent audiocards, but seriously. It's worth it. Don't buy a Creative soundboard though (because in my experience they are overpriced and not exactly hassle-free), get something like Asus Xonar D1. I have it and even though I am using shitty headphones (Steelseries Siberia V2) there is definitely a big difference. The sound is a lot more clear and crisp.
Alright, it's a choise between Grado SR60i or AKG K240 MKII. Any help? [editline]2nd September 2011[/editline] Wow, Amazon can't send those AKG's to my country.
NEVER. EVER. EVER get a Creative XTREME FI TITANIUM SKULL BLING BLING CHAMPION soundcard. It is horribly horrible. My mobo produces better sound, and the drivers on the creative are unstable as shit. If you want a soundcard, get a DAC. Or an Auzentech Forte.
[b]Budget:[/b] €60,- [b]Country: [/b]The Netherlands [b]Isolation: [/b]Closed [b]Purpose: [/b]70% Gaming, 29% music, 1% movies. [b]Music: [/b]Dubstep, Drum and Bass. I'd like a combo kind of headset, because I absolutely despise table and clip-on mics.
Alright, I've decided to get a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50. They're for about 120€ on Amazon, is that a good price? [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] The version I'm about to get is not the coiled one. My Shures had coiled cable and it tended to get in the way. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] -nevermind- [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] I could get ATH-A700's for 10€ more. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] What I've read is that while M50's sound great, A700's have better soundstage (which would be better for gaming) but they don't sound as good as M50's (mids and bass). I guess I'll stick with the M50's then. I wouldn't probably hear the difference. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] Now I'm wondering if I should get open headphones instead of closed, I could get a pair of AD700's for the price of M50's. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] Used AD700's for 100€. Should I? [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] Fucking Amazon, why can't it send anything to my contry. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] I'm so tempted to buy AD700's anyway but I'm still concerned about the lack of bass.
I got myself a Creative Soundblaster Tactic 3D Alpha headset and it's great and all, but how do I test the surround sound? Is there any software or something to try it out? Because I don't think I'm getting the surround sound atm.

Anyone tried the new Asus (Vulcan ANC) headset? From what i've heard it's surprisingly good.
[IMG]http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/2613/soundsettingsbeingwierd.png[/IMG] Windows settings tell me I can only do stereo on my headset and that it is what I'm doing atm, but can I trust that, or do the 3rd party software take care of that? [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] Ah maybe my sound card doesn't support surround :v: [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] Or maybe it's because of USB. [editline]3rd September 2011[/editline] Do 3,5 mm support surround?
[QUOTE=drummerundrcovr;32089940]I hear if you EQ them with some lower frequencies, they'll still sound very good and have better bass.[/QUOTE] I just orde---- Fuck I'm cancelling my order and getting something cheaper. [editline]-[/editline] ATH-AD700's are my final choice. Now I'll just wait to get my money back and order these...
[QUOTE=Djessey;32057968]Well, I just bought the XB700 and I must say they are incredible. And on top of that way better then the beats.[/QUOTE] I got a pair, but may return. They feel great but not sure on the band that sits on your head. Also the cable is too short for my needs. Whilst the bass is mighty fine, the mids lack for me. I do listen to hip hop, etc but they don't suit my needs for guitar music or television shows that are mostly vocal. Anyone recommend a pair again that have crisp sound and good bass too, that's not overpowering? Budget at most being £100. I'll pick up a sound card too at some point.
Any new headphones that qualify for honorable mentions? From around 6-9 months ago at most.

Try and find these ear cushions too [url]http://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-Velour-Earcushions-MDR7506-Headphones/dp/B0016MF7W2[/url] They're lovely.
What's the best pair of headphones for $300-350? Music: 80% Games: 20% All genres of music.
Gonna be ordering some Grado SR-60i's and a FiiO E7 portable amp soon. Anyone know any better online stores in Canada to find them other than Headphonebar?
Can someone recommend me a headset? Budget : 60$ Country: USA Ebay : No Isolation: Preferably closed Purpose: A balance between music and gaming. Something good all around. 40% Gaming, 10% movie, 50% music. Musical tastes: Check my last.fm account. Mainly electronic and thrash metal. My main priority is something that will last a long time and is very reliable. My last 3 headsets broke within a few months of use. A microphone is not necessary, since I already have one, but if you find one for me that does have one that's a big bonus mainly because my current one is p crappy. Another thing I would like is the ability to use it on my PS3 too. I found my old turtle beach worked on both my pc and ps3 very well along with my 360 and I would like something like that Reposting because it's been little over a week since I originally posted it

Also, I trust Sony in build quality but not got much confidence in their sound at the moment. ATH-M50 goes £8 over budget but may be tempting. Any other suggestions too? :v: I'm a bit fussy, by the way. Thankyou for your help though!
I was looking into the PLANTRONICS Gamecom 367, it seemed pretty decent for me. Either that or the TRITTON AX120 headset. [editline]4th September 2011[/editline] I'm still looking for a good one in the €60,- price range.
The Grado SR60i's are very tempting, they are bigger than what they look like. Now the only problem with then is the bit that goes on the ear. I've had headphones like this before and the foam has either been torn or come out loose beneath the plastic easily.. :(
[QUOTE=koekje4life V2;32108585]I was looking into the PLANTRONICS Gamecom 367, it seemed pretty decent for me. Either that or the TRITTON AX120 headset. [editline]4th September 2011[/editline] I'm still looking for a good one in the €60,- price range.[/QUOTE] I bought a pair of 367s with my gift card, they are actually quite good. At first the sound sounded somewhat tinny, but it seems they got better after a while. Sound wise there are moments where sound is low, not very detailed, but for the most part it sounds pretty solid, it has a nice amount of bass too. The microphone is pretty nice, people over ts hear me very clearly and it picks up little to none background noise (and i'm in a living room atm) Very good for the price imo, feel much more solid than my old 20 quid fatalities too, although I think those sound better. The set also cover my largish ears, these things are massive but not heavy. [editline]4th September 2011[/editline] Oh and also, review on the Igrados I got Igrados are a pair of headphones that use the same drivers that the sr60 uses, and it shows, they sound great. Bass wise the sound isn't anything special, although i'm not too fussed about that. (Also apparently cutting small penny sized holes in the covers improves bass and sound quality a bit) When listening to music I can definitely hear every instrument clearly, i listen to mostly rock, ranging from Indie to Heavy metal. I also listened to the Tron soundtrack and holy shit, it sounded amazing. For other styles of songs the headset performs well, however if your more of a hip person or prefer bass filled dubstep or other songs that have an emphasis on bass, i'd say look else where, otherwise for the occasional listening these are fine. Comfort wise at first I found the Igrados very painful, they pushed in on my ears and irritated me, they rubbed and fell on my ears constantly. I have a little thing where I give a product 3 days chance before I decide if I want to send it back or not, thankfully during the end of the 2nd day/start of the 3rd day I started finding them comfortable. They look pretty stylish and the wire has been improved over older models so it won't break as easy. The neckband seems really flexible and shouldn't break when you shove it in your bag. Another nifty thing I find is that it isn't plastered with IGRADO GRADO PRO etc, apart from a simple sticker on the back that will probably fall off after a few weeks. I think this is good as it ill probably deter people from potentially snatching it. I've been using the headphones with a 2008 model of the top end Walkman, and it sounds great. Plugged into my PC it sounds even better, if you have a newer mp3 I can confidently say it'll sound good. Definatly recommend these, although i'd say make sure you keep an eye on the refund time frame incase you find them uncomfortable for too long.
If you don't want to spend more then 30$ for headphones, you might as well go for the 367/377s They're great for the price. Even if it is a headset. Mine cheaped out on me after about a year. The wire kept coiling up on itself somehow and stripped it self on the inside. Now I got ad700s. Great stuff.
Ordered me a Corsair HS1, it was on a Newegg Shell Shocker deal for $50 (normally $100). Only for 1 day. Ordered ASAP. Heard ALOT of good reviews on them. And they look just awesome. Can tell just by pictures and videos that these are sturdy and have good build quality unlike my Turtle Beach Earforce X11.
