So I bought a pair turtleBeach x11's last year because I was really suprised with the mic quality (Terrible Move on my part) but I was thinking about taking them back for in store credit at best buy because I dont really ever use them, So I was wondering what are the best headphones I could get at best buy for around $70 and I am totally willing to toss in more money if it is worth it. Purpose: 80% music 20% gaming
Alright So I found some AD-700's on Best Buys website for $90 How is the bass on these?

SO I just got my AD700's and I really do not have the gaming sound stage that i want, do I need a dedicated sound card to make that work or what?
Okay so I need new headphones, i don't really feel like going through 30 pages of shit. Dre Beats Solo HD: Go or no? My headphone budget is $200. Yes I know they are $230, i have some wiggle room.

Oh and those would be only for music. I also need a good pair of DJ headphones, which would also obviously be only for music, but they could be open. They need to have swivel cups. [editline]13th September 2011[/editline] ninja [editline]13th September 2011[/editline] Oh and I forgot to mention I'm buying the beats used off a friend for $145. They're in good shape, and yeah I checked, they're not fake that I can tell.

The bass is muddy and horribly overpowering, there are NO mids and the highs are way too tinny and forced sounding.
Uh, wouldn't a DJ headphone NEED to be closed, so you can actually monitor your music?
Traditionally, DJ headphones are closed-back and studio reference headphones are open-back.

My old Audio Technica just broke. I need a new one. Budget: 200 - 350 (HKD) 25 - 44 USD [I have wiggle room, but not a whole lot.] Can you use Ebay: No. Country: Hong Kong Isolation: If possible - I want to hear others but I don't want others to hear my music. If not - Open Purpose: Music & Gaming Musical Tastes: Dubstep, Techno, the likes. Extras: Would help if it doesn't looks like shit and folds up to a more compact position.

So all they had for head phones were bose and Sony any to recommend from those brands?
Any suggestions/opinions on active noise cancelling headphones? I will be living in a dorm and will probably have to travel a lot by train/plane the next couple of years and I was wondering whether they would be a good investment, if so which one should I look for? Let's say for now budget is not an issue (still as low as possible) as long as the headphones are worth the investment. I would also plan on doing some gaming (but the sound quality is not extremely important to me during gaming) and listening to music, some decent bass would be preferred. I am going to buy this in the UK, either online/from stores or duty free.
My HD201's are broken and I'm looking for a better pair, wanting ones similar to HD201 but maybe with better Sound quality and different style. Price range is about £40 and less. I would get the HD202 but I want to know if they'e comfortable, will only use them mainly for music on itunes (Daft Punk, Justice, Coldplay)
Budget: 3000nKr (Around 500$) Can you use eBay: Yes, but only auth'd sellers. Country: Norway Isolation: Closed Purpose: Deep bassy music and gaming. Musical Tastes: Dubstep, techno. Also a clip on mic, saw the link but it doesn't work. [editline]yup[/editline] And a sound card.

But honestly there's so much choice in that price range there isn't a "definitive" headphone, post on head-fi if you can.

Also a decent sound card to go with that? :v:
http://www.accessoryjack.com/-strse-2363/Sony-MDR-dsh-XB1000-XB1000-Extra/Detail.bok The cheapest XB1000's you can get as far as I know, genuine too. Very well liked headphones for electronic music and such, large soundstage for gaming too. I have a pair of XB1000's in the mail now from Hong Kong (damn you 25 day shipping) and I can't wait, and if you do get them be careful not to damage your hearing as the mids and especially the highs are very smooth and they're comfortable to listen to at high volume. Sound card wise I have no idea, some kind of high end Xonar or something?
So...you're willing to spend 3000nKr. What amp do you have?
This is a very relevant question, buying really expensive headphones to run on the integrated sound card in your pc is like buying a silk padded throne for a tractor, it doesn't matter how much money you spent on the throne, it's still gonna be an uncomfortable ride.

Sony MDR-V6DJ or Sennheiser HD 205
Any suggestions/opinions on active noise cancelling headphones? I am going to buy this in the UK, either online/from stores or duty free.
They're no good. Noise cancelling headphones use a microphone to analyze the surrounding environment and generate an "antinoise" signal which they output through the drivers along with whatever you're listening to. The process isn't perfect and outputting the cancellation signal degrades the sound quality of the audio that you're playing. They also have a few other downsides including usually requiring batteries to operate, weighing more than most headphones and having poor construction. The best way to block out outside noise is to use noise * suppressing* headphones. They physically block out unwanted noise without adding any additional noise of their own. I'd suggest looking at a pair of inner ear monitors. If you're on a budget, take a look at: Etymotic MC5 Etymotic MC3 Shure SE215
You really only need a good pair of closed-back circumaural cans if you're looking for noise insulation.
[t]http://s3.amazonaws.com/samsontech/related_docs/SR850_mirrored_down.jpg[/t] Samson SR850 - $50 For those looking for good gaming cans, the Samson SR850s are amazing for gaming. There's a lot of praise for them at Head-Fi, and many prefer them over the HD555/595 and AD700 that cost twice as much. For $50, they're worth trying. For even less, you can pick up the identical (but lower bass, and bright highs) Superlux HD681. They're a little bit ugly with the red bits compared to the all black Samsons, but worth it if you prefer bass-heavy music and games. Cheap, easy to drive (no amp or crazy soundcard needed), Head-Fi gaming approved! The only complaint I've seen about these two headphones is that the pads are a little uncomfortable. If you're willing to do some work, sew on some velour fabric in place of the vinyl on top of the pads! The clip-on mic URL in the op seems to have broke mind if someone would tell me what type it was?
It was the Zalman ZM-MIC 1 Clip On Microphone.
