I'm probably going to buy the ATH-M50 on monday unless anyone has a better suggestion?
I bought the MDR-V500DJ, after a long chat with Cosmic Duck. They'll arrive Tuesday and I'll give my opinion on them then if anyone else is looking for £30 headphones
I need some new in-ear earbuds for music. A lot of this thread is headphones but I don't have a place to carry headphones with me at school when I'm not using them. I've got a budget of $50, maybe $60 dollars. Any suggestions?

Razer Orca - 60$/£55
A very nice pair of cans in acid green, what more could you want? These are amazing for gaming as you can hear the footsteps and direction of the enemy with ease giving you a slight edge. Music wise these are gods gift, they are insanely loud if you want them to be and has a nice amount of bass delivering to your ears.
However I'm sure you could now get something better and much cheaper but gaming wise these bad boys are amazing.

Gamecoms are shit and will break in no time. They have several design flaws and everyone i know who has/had one had his/her break in less than two years. That and they sound like shit.

What do you recommend then?

Both great budget headphones, not sure if they fit your music preferences though. If you need a mic buy a desktop mic separately, they're honestly not as much in the way as you think they might be.

Was actually looking for a headset with a built-in mic because of limited space. Know of any? Also whats a good desktop mic tho?
My AH-D2000's are starting to wear out. I'd move to AH-D5000's but I want to try something else.

How loud do you listen to music?
So I think I'm going to get
Headphones - Samson SR850
Microphone - No clue yet.
I've been looking for desktop mics but haven't a clue where to start. My price range for one is around $50.

I'm not too sure on clip on mics like how well do they stay on, Do you clip them to your shirt?
I'm not too sure on clip on mics like how well do they stay on, Do you clip them to your shirt?
I clip mine to the headphone cable it's a tight fit so it stays on well
never had it fall off
The cord does get in the way sometimes but its not that bad since it has clip like things on the cable to hook it on the the cord also

So I would just clip it onto the headphones cable and that's it? Also what's the range of it and is there a mute button on it?

No mute button sadly but if my brother is in the other room it can pick him up
Maybe its because I have the microphone boost up pretty high or what

Ok I guess I'm going with the Zalman then. Thanks
Well I have the Audio Technica ATH AD700 and I am wondering is there a headset that works just as good as these but are better at positional sound such as steps in front of you kind of position?

If it's not too late, what's your budget for the mic?
If it's not too late, what's your budget for the mic?
$50
I'm looking for a desktop mic really but a decent quality clip on is fine too.
Ah, didn't notice you were in Australia. The Samson (same brand as your headphones you're getting) Go Mic is $47 in the US and is great, it can clip on to some monitors (it's meant for laptop screens, so it doesn't open very wide) or be stood up on a desk. It can also be mounted to a microphone stand. It's a great mic, it's what I use. There's also the Blue Snowflake, which sits on top of the monitor.
The Go Mic is definitely better, it has 3 modes you can switch from, and you can also use it as a sound output.
Also, for quite a bit cheaper, there's the Logitech USB desk mic, it's okay. I'd definitely recommend you get a USB microphone over a 3.5mm one, they power themselves so there can't really be any problems with what you're plugging it into.

Dang, they're both $100 in Aus, that sucks.

http://www.shopbot.com.au/m/?m=usb+logitech+microphone&order=lh&p1=&p2= is probably the best desk mic in your budget in aus

Looking at the "Go Mic" it doesn't say what modes it has, Also where do you have yours setup? On your desk, Laptop or what?
