where can i get mdr-v6 for cheap
they're 60$ on amazon, there's nowhere you can really get them cheaper it's such a good investment though, a pair lasts upwards of five years and if you treat them correctly even longer
eq
Sure but I hate the idea of software equalization and it wouldn't really make anything sound better quality-wise I like neutral, so I listen without EQ
Ever since I got my new headphones I've started to appreciate well mixed songs. Unfortunately some of my favourite songs sound like shit.
Tell me about it, I like "Californication" but that album is mastered so badly it hurts just to listen to it.
What sort of headphones? If they're in-ear, I would try switching to a smaller earpiece.
No, just regular headphones really. I'd hate if there was no solution to this.

What do people think of "Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI Sound Card" as a cheapish sound card?
Budget: ~Around 100, flexible eBay: Ehh Country: United States Isolation: Preferably isloated :s Purpose: Music Music Tastes: Rock, Jazz, Folk, Blues, Punk Comments: I'm looking for good earbuds, to use with my phone. The tracks are somewhat high quality, and I use the EQ in poweramp.
What do people think of "Asus Xonar DG 5.1 PCI Sound Card" as a cheapish sound card?
Better than onboard but not great
Better than onboard but not great
Okay, i'm going to invest £20 more and get "Asus Xonar DS 7.1 PCI Sound Card" and get a more expensive one at christmas.
Okay, i'm going to invest £20 more and get "Asus Xonar DS 7.1 PCI Sound Card" and get a more expensive one at christmas.
When christmas is coming up get the Xonar D1 or an Xonar DX if you need a bit more power for your headphones (if I remember correctly, it has a built in amplifier)
When christmas is coming up get the Xonar D1 or an Xonar DX if you need a bit more power for your headphones (if I remember correctly, it has a built in amplifier)
The Xonar DG already has a built in amp.
When christmas is coming up get the Xonar D1 or an Xonar DX if you need a bit more power for your headphones (if I remember correctly, it has a built in amplifier)
DX lacks an amp
My headphones are on back order :c
what headphones :c
quit wasting money on sound cards, a better source isn't going to help you unless you're quite a lot, or want features like EAX / Dolby Headphone, etc. I'd only suggest getting a DG or other amp unless you actually need it because your headphones are more than like 60 ohms.
what headphones :c
http://www.head-fi.org/products/panasonic-rp-htf600-s-step-monitor
DX lacks an amp
sorry misread DX for DG.
Darn it, thanks for the replies guys but i'm stuck between two. I can actually afford this now: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00198DM2K/sr=8-3/qid=1317157662/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&qid=1317157662&sr=8-3&seller= So the Xonar DX or DS? Worth the £20 more?

I'm trying to avoid spending more than $100. Amazon reviews for these headphones are good, but I'm skeptical. If these aren't worth it, I'll keep looking myself.

Gone for the Xonar DX as it's had great reviews for it's price. Although, i'll have to move my graphics card from the blue PCIe slot to the black one, otherwise the sound card will block my fan to the card.. although it's whether my graphics card will fit there as there's some connectors at the end going into the motherboard where the graphics card could be sitting..
So I was on the path of selling my hd558's in favor of some more durable closed phones for moving around, then I realized I wouldn't actually wanna bring a pair of 150-200 dollar headphones with me anywhere public. I'm now content with buying a second pair of headphones. Incidentally, literally as I was about to start this sentence a guy walked past me with a pair of Sennheiser HD418s, how does that fill my criteria of durability, portability and isolation, and perhaps more importantly, are they good value?

Mine does, very handy for my DX.
For Fucks sake, I bought some Sony MDR-XB20EX that said on them extra bass, they finally arrived and they are comparable to running my music via my iPhone speaker.

I don't know about you but going from onboard to soundcard is night and day. [editline]30th September 2011[/editline] But you don't need the most expensive on the market, that's true. But you might want a soundcard regardless.

I have AC97 onboard ugh, glad I got this Xonar DG
S/Pdif out from on-board audio into external DAC+Headphone Amplifier. Has the added benefit of removing the whole analog side of the audio from the incredibly noisy environment that is the inside of your computer.
