Marshall arent weird where perfect! i have a pair Marshall minor for my ipod Great quality
I know marshalls are good but they are pretty obscure for a big shop to have.
I just realized this thread was here.
Anyways I just bought myself an ASUS Xonar DG for $20 as my onboard sound is pretty simple, and I want to experience BF3 in its full glory.
I currently have a set of Steelseries Siberia's, and while decent they are getting worn. I'm wondering if theres anything better out there for the price range? ($50) Or should I just stick with my siberias?
I'm only interested in Over-ear headsets. I only use my headphones for gaming, I use my 2.1 system for music (and sometimes gaming). So in light of that, I'm looking for something that can produce pretty good sound, possibly good bass too if it doesn't end up killing the quality (my Steelseries has pretty unnoticeable bass sadly).
XB300s are 30 bucks and best in bass in that range and general sound quality. Then get that clip on mic everyone is always recommending. Zalman or whatever.
Well, At least their headphones, Their amps are everywhere.
MY AUTO
Actually reading your post above mine, the XM500's sound almost perfect:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826159370
I hear the bass is overpowering, and compairing the specs of mine and these it almost seems like the Steelseries gets better highs, but apparently with some EQ adjustment the mid/highs on the 500's end up sounding pretty close to perfect and the bass perfect too. It sounds like it would be a great upgrade from my current worn-down headset, which gets close to no bass but sounds *decent*
And my siberias have a shirt-clip mic with an extension as well so I'd likely use those with the above if you guys think its a good idea to drop $50 on a new pair over my Siberia's
I am wearing the XB-500s right now and they are amazing. The bass isn't too overpowering, but it's THERE LIKE CRAZY. Mids and highs sound nice as well and EQing them will make them even better.
Oh, and this:
I'VE GOT PILLOWS ON ME EARS!
Unnghhh this is making me want to splurge and buy them
Bank account is at $1180, I've already bought myself a TV (my share of one at least), dining table for my apartment, ASUS Transformer, $480 Vegas-area Camping Trip in the winter for 11 days and a car @ $1400 (which is actually saving money as my budget was prepaired for dropping a lot more, plus i get 35mpg) all in the past 3-4mo
I'll feel like a dirty spender if I buy, but the fact that I'm basically no longer needing to pay a car payment like I planned and am no longer paying for schooling means the only real bills I have to pay is my share of the end-of-month rent. Which has made me want to buy things :x I make $300 a week so I can easily afford said rent.
Should I get? Or should I get a little dose of responsiblity :v: Or does it not really matter cause its 50 fuckin' dollars lol
If you're gonna splurge, Splurge big. Sennheiser 558, AKG K702, ATH m50, the works.
Or you can get a denon D2000.

It's fucking 50 dollars. Buy them. Plus they look sexy, and when you meet an illiterate with beats you can have him put these on and watch his jaw drop at the quality and power of the bass.

Well its settled I'll get the XB500's
If I go broke I'm blaming it on Facepunch now, thats how it goes :v:
ATH-M50s
ATH-M50s
I don't know how the ATH-M50s are on bass, but he asked for something with good bass, so I recommended what I knew.
ATH-M50s have plenty of bass. The ones you have have way too much bass from what I've heard.

Not really.
yeah really
Been using the Grado SR60i with a FiiO E7 portable amp for a few weeks now.
I noticed the Grado has an amp unnecessary rating on the OP. I think it should be changed, as the amp I have really improves the bass output on these headphones.

I'm wearing them right now, they aren't overpowering.
ATH-M50s
Little out of my price range. This will be coupled with a Xonar DG so I'll be able to play with equilizer settings to tone down the bass a little (which I'll prob do).
Are Wireless headphones shit?
specifically the Sennheiser RS 170
Went ahead and purchased me some XB500's, excited for them (and the soundcard) to arrive :) It'll be nice to have something comfortable over my ears for once, and onces that can deliver atmosphere.
I would love to get better headphones but after $60 or so I start thinking "Hmm this could be going twoards a new monitor", so the $100+ ones are way out of my acceptable price bracket. Especially since I only game half the time with my headphones (though these new ones might change that). Partly due to comfort, partly because I'm in the mood to kick back a little and sometimes I just don't want to feel something on my ears. My 2.1 system is pretty good for that, but I still like to have a nice pair of headphones for when I want to get into whatever I play. I'm not much for competitive play (more of an atmosphere guy) so nice solid bass is more important to me than flat base but great highs/mids. Obviously the ideal solution would be to get something that covers everything great, but then again I don't use my headphones enough for me to want to drop serious cash into them to make sure my highs are within specific ranges I probably can't notice.
Would I need a soundcard/amp if I get HD 558's? Kind of can't afford £111.11 headphones and an amp in one go.
Not necessarily.

Ok, I'll treat myself and order them anyway.
Im going to buy a denon D 2000, would I need an amp to drive it? And if so is the fiio e7 a good choice?
[editline]20th October 2011[/editline]
I might step up to a D5000

jesus
Yep.
I may have found one for what may be 360 pounds, which is 566 Dollars.
I hope they're worth that price. I have a denon receiver that was $1699 when first bought and it's been fucking awesome. No idea about the headphones. They better be worth it.
Hey guys, I need a nice new pair of headphones and I have no idea what to get so I thought I'd come here for some help.
Budget: Around £50, a little higher is fine.
eBay:Nah, never been one for eBay.
Country:UK
Purpose:Music and gaming
Music Tastes: Anything except rave really.
As for Isolation, I have no idea really. I used to have a pair of Panasonic RP-HT225 headphones but they broke sadly. I'd love a new pair just like them, but better, and the isolation to be the same.
Thanks in advance.
i need a pair of headphones with good bass and no leaking sound
price?
What are some good headphones for just music?
