Need an upgrade. Which one's are better for the money?

Going to be using them at home for gaming and on campus for music.
EDIT:
Also, will a sound card be necessary for these? And to me, it seems like 10 feet is a lot of cord.

I know someone how bought the HD428's. The sound quality was great but she managed to rip the cord in half within a few days. Not sure how she did it, but just a heads up that the cord might be really weak.

It said the cord was very flimsy. I was looking into the 448's because of the shorter cord length. I'm also told I'll need a soundcard with these.

"need"? It all depends on the user. If you want clearer sound, then you'll want an audio card. If you don't care that much than your built in audio will probably work fine.
You might want to look into an amplifier too if you want to increase clarity. Some audio cards have built in amplifiers.
Pardon my ignorance, but does anyone know of a soundcard or amp with a 6.3mm jack? Rather not have to use 3.5mm adapters. The only soundcard I found with a native 6.3 is the Xonar Essence STX, which is a tad expensive at £140, and I'm clueless in regards to amps.
Anyone want to recommend me any earbuds less than 10 dollars (Preferably less than 10, but fine with 20)? Other than the one in the OP. My old ones broke and I don't really wanna haul around a headphone.

I was originally planning on getting the ad700's, but the price got jacked up a bit and is no longer sold on a lot of sites. Any idea on what would be a real good replacement? (First check was $80).
[editline]Edited:[/editline] Nevermind, managed to find one.
Budget: £20-£40
Country: UK
Purpose: 90% gaming, 10% everything else, movies, music and so on.
Comments: I also needs to have a mic on it. Would prefer it if I could buy it on Amazon.
Anyone link me to a good one?
I'm leaning towards the Kanen KM-92 Wooden IEM in the OP, but does anyone have any personal experiences of it lasting a while? I don't want it to break in 6 months like my old ones.

The description of the headphones say "Designed especially for professional monitoring and mixing". What does that mean exactly? Would I also be able to buy a clip on mic for this?

EDIT: He'll only use one that has an attached mic. Has to be closed isolation.

The most uncomfortable, muddy headphones on the planet.

I'm looking for some open headphones, my budget can go up to $60 and the Sony's PIIQ MDR-PQ3 look okay.
The main reason of why I like them is because I live in Chile, and everything, in retail stores, is way more expensive than on the internet, except for these (they cost something like $30 here, wich is similar to the eBay/Amazon price of $20). So I wanted to know if anyone has tried them out.
Or maybe I should just man up and buy something over the internet. Like a Sennheiser.

doubt they're any good, just order off the internet and wait a few days.
Hey, I'm looking for some good headphones between £0-£100, mainly for gaming, since the current headphones I have (Plantronics 665s) are the most uncomfortable things imaginable, and the sound quality is deteriorating as well as the fact that the microphone has broken. I'm trying to find some that are closed around the ear and comfortably padded with a good balance between bass and treble. I'm kinda shite at looking around for things, I don't really know where to start.
