What is a good headset with decent sound quality for music and good mic quality? I can't do headphones. I want to, but desktop mics and mods and all that bullshit don't work for me. My budget is $50-100.
Desktop mics require boost in order to pick up at any distance other than right next to them.

any time I use mic boost there is a LOT of whitenoise though.

Reduce volume or get a better mic
Reduce volume or get a better mic
any suggestions? every review for every desk mic says that the mic is inadequate
it really seems like it's either get headphones - mic or headset - sound quality

I used a variant of this that worked fine for me. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=ge+microphone&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=8082459546289229094&sa=X&ei=qZHiTYr_CsPW0QHez-iTBw&ved=0CDYQ8gIwAA
I talk with 5 friends on skype almost everyday and we play games, so trust me desk mics are fine as long as they're not from 1998
looking for a headphone and earbuds
Trying to keep the total under 50.
Right now looking at hd201's and cx300's and that barley goes over.
Any better suggestions?
I bought a Logitech G35 headset today at Best Buy for $80, this thing is so damn nice.
I'm still a sucker for Logitech, they have some good stuff.
My Beats by Dre just broke...
:smith:

In love with hd201's. Great for crisp quality and the bass is alright.
Almost got the cx300 ii but they mis-labeled it and were selling them for 70 instead of 30.
are the sennheiser HD 280's any good or is there something better at the same price range I should be getting?
Links in the OP don't work, they get cut off. I hate seeing that, it's like someone starting a sente...and that's how I saved Antarctica.
I need to get some new headphones but I'm not really looking around so much yet. I like my speakers.
Yeah this thing about dr. dre beats, a friend wants them so bad, but i'm trying to tell him it's just a pair of studio headphones with a d slapped on it, what should i recommend to him instead?

Can anyone help? I got the ATH-M50 straight cable version.
Looking for some good In-Ear headphones..
Budget: $100 approx.
Can you use Ebay: No.
Country: Norway
Isolation: Closed.
Purpose: Music, and often for longer periods of time.
Has to sit well on my ears, so that i can go for a walk without having to put them in all the time. I looked at some EarSet 3i from Bang & Olufsen, but when i noticed they were open that was a no-go.
Anything similar to those?
Sound quality: I've got an AKG k518 headset, but it's not good for walks, which is why i want in-ear. Preferably something that's not worse in quality than those?
just ordered the Grado SR 60i
i'm pumped
Budget:
I'm willing to go a little over $100, but I'd prefer not to.
Ebay:
Only if you can convince me it's reliable and I can get it one piece.
Country:
Good Ol' US of A.
Isolation:
Open foremost, but I'm not against closed.
Purpose:
Gaming mostly, with some music, not much in the way of movies.
Musical Tastes:
Variable. Everything from Beatles to Yoko Shimomura to Midnight Rider. So Rock, Classical & Orchestrated, electronic, almost anything.

The Etymotics are more neutral while the Shures have more pronounced midrange and midbass.
Shure SE215
Etymotic MC5

Holy shit they are expensive in the UK, the average price seems to be around £80, while the US price is like £10- £20 cheaper than that.

probably because they are manufactured in Brooklyn
or something. HeadRoom won't even ship them outside the US

Not as bad as the AD700 used to be - I paid £120 for mine while it was ~£65 in the US :saddowns:
Budget: Up to $85, can go over if there is something amazing.
Country: Canada
Ebay: Only if reliable, but I would prefer not to use ebay.
Isolation: I want to be the only one able to hear my music lol
Purpose/Taste: Music, dubstep, dnb, techno and all those other bass-requiring genres
as far as DACs go, the e7 is considered one of the best for it's price($100)
i might get one later this year

I want a ok pc headset for gaming. I found this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826106236
Im not extremely picky and really hope for it to be 30$ or under if any other suggestions.
I used to just use the xbox headset that came with the system and it never broke or let me down so I don't have extreme standards. Also ill be using the headset exclusively for gaming, not listening to music cause I use my dads headphones for that.
Tell me if the headset I linked to is fine. Post suggestions for around 30$

uh is this going to be your main source of sound?
uh is this going to be your main source of sound?
I have speakers. I just need it to communicate although the headphone part is nice so people don't hear the other end of the conversation.
Little games support chat through a headset and audio through speakers, but if that's what you're getting it for it will work fine.
Does anyone know if a 3.5mm to USB adapter would by-pass a headphone plug stuck in the jack?

3.5->USB 'adapters' would just be a USB soundcard and may sound horrible. You can't get it with needle-nose pliers or something?
