Using a fatal1ty headset at the moment, bought it years ago since I use them for gaming most of the time and I'm a sucker for the over-pronounced bass (I'm a faggot like that) and the removable flexible mic.
Since they are older than I can remember I'm somewhat expecting them to break sooner or later. I know this is primarily a headphones thread and not so much about gaming headsets, but does anyone have any good headsets (with removable mics maybe)?
Budget: $40-50
Ebay: Yes.
Isolation: Preferably closed if such exists.
Country: Look left
Purpose:
well the headphones in it are good but it's still not that great of a guide

I thought it was reasonable
i guess it's ok for a beginner's guide
the DAC section is definitely for beginners. it treats the E7 like a definitive DAC when it's really just a definitive DAC for that price range.
I'd say get a CMOY rather than those, and for the cons/pros a lot of them are based on opinion, no isolation is a positive to some people. It also lists HD202 and not HD201, HD201 are better and cheaper. It also doesn't mention soundstage other than refering to it as 'positional audio', which isn't always a positive for all people for all types of listening. It's just a very basic guide for gamers only, even then it's still pretty bad.

And AMPs can change and even improve sound quality on easy to drive headphones.
Budget: around $100, can be flexed some.
Ebay: no
Isolation: Preferably closed but I have no experience with open cans so hard to say.
Purpose:
I hate the % thing, basically I'll be using it nighttime and on lan parties so lots of music and gaming, but I also want them to be able to deliver when I'm watching movies.
The problems I'm having are twofold. One, I can't decide if I want a headset or not. I really want a microphone and desktop/clip-ons can go fuck themselves but I don't want to saccrifice too much quality just for an attached mic. Second, I would really really prefer to buy from this store:
www.dustinhome.se because I get student discounts and free shipping. Chrome should auto-translate when you visit it.
3.5->USB 'adapters' would just be a USB soundcard and may sound horrible. You can't get it with needle-nose pliers or something?
I'll have to use locksmith tools or something. It's stupidly tight in there.
Budget: 100ish$, definitely under 150$
Ebay: Nope
Country: US
Isolation: Closed
Purpose: 35% Gaming, 60% Music, 5% Movies
Musical Tastes: Ranged, from Jazz to Hip Hop to Metal to DnB (good bass preferred)
Wired/Wireless: Would prefer wireless but I don't mind a wire as long as it's long enough.
Over/In ear: Over Ear
Notes: I had bought some Turtle Beach x11s when they originally came out for my 360 and had used them for a while and just now the surround sound and left headphone went out and I'm looking for a good replacement, they handled music fairly well.

saw a kid in school wearing these http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-HDJ-1000-DJ-Headphones/dp/B0002DV7Z2
they any good?
Budget:
$80 or less
Can you use Ebay:
Maybe
Isolation:
Prefer closed, no experience with open.
Purpose:
Mostly gaming, some music. I rarely watch movies on a computer.
Musical Tastes:
Mostly rock.
My crappy $20 headset doesn't work any longer due to my cat chewing through it and the electrical tape's not holding it. I'd like to get something that could last and has decent sound quality. I would prefer a built in mic rather than a clip-on. Also, my laptop supports bluetooth so I'd be fine with that.
What are the best earbuds for the $75 range? As long as it ships to canada I am happy.
I also know you all hate skullcandies, but I am going to list a bunch of things I can get at futureshop so here it goes:

Budget - $60 CDN
Ebay - Maybe
Isolation - Closed
Purpose - will be used for mostly listening to music. I'd be using these with either an iphone4/5 or a Nexus S phone.
Musical Taste - mostly everything.
I was looking at the Klipsch S2 at NCIX, but want opinions on other models.
Is there a difference in terms of wiring between low-end headphones and high-end? I've been having a lot of problems with several sets of cheap headphones losing sound in one speaker because the wires eventually become disconnected after months of use.
If I went out and spent like $100 on a decent pair of Sennheisers, is the wiring going to hold up better than a crappy $10 Walmart special?

It's less likely and easier to fix in most cases.
Retoast because I got last post on last page.

a700
[editline]4th June 2011[/editline]
you're not getting anything with a mic attached to it that's actually good for ~$100
Budget: Under 30Euros.
Ebay: No
Country: France, would prefer Amazon UK though(can be other shops in the UK too, as long as they don't ship overprices to other countries of europe.)
Isolation: Doesn't matter really
Misc: Needs to be compatible with an IPod Touch 2G, over Bluetooth.
Purpose: Listening to music
Music tastes: Electronica, Rock, Classic
They don't need to be really top-notch, but not too shitty. Basically I want Bluetooth because I always manage to break the wire (already annihilated more than 10 pairs.)
Would be awesome if something like this exists.
don't think you'll find any headphones under 30 euro that are bluetooth
don't think you'll find any headphones under 30 euro that are bluetooth
Well I guess I could go higher than that then.

good job reading my post, I wanna get from this store: www.dustinhome.se because I get student discounts and free shipping. They don't have the a700.
Music 90%
Gaming 5%
Movies 5%
Isolation: Closed
Country: Uk
Ebay: Possibly.
Budget: £30 ish
I listen to lots of genres and can't stand it when the bass sounds muffled
They must be able to survive day to day use, as I will use them a lot outside.
(They can also be mini USB - but 3.5 mm is fine too.)

oh god you're going to make me vomit, you're buying them for looks? It's 150 euros, you could get some amazing stuff for that, and not just a fashion accessory that emits sound
