Has anyone had any experience with the Sennheiser PX 360s? They're pretty new
Turtle Beach headsets are pretty comfortable, they come with some decent pads. I listened to a pair at a Best Buy once, it was a like $270 model - it sounds about on par to my 2XL Spoke earbuds I bought for $5 once. It's not fantastic. So, like a lot of other brands, overpriced shit.
Has anyone heard of or heard the ATH-TAD500s? I can't seem to find much information on them, apart from the fact that I could possibly buy some for like 80-90 dollars while visiting relatives. I can't seem to find reviews on them, apart from ones in japanese on amazon.co.jp (I don't know japanese). Here they are, if you think you'll have any luck with them or the garbled mess of words google translate and babelfish spit out.
Ordered a Fiio E7 and A-MTH50's. 24 Days!

This is probably the wrong thread but I figured you guys probably know the subject best, so I'm just going to go ahead and ask here. Is there any good headphone amplifier I can get for 100 bucks or less? The problem is that I want to be able to use it with my MacBook Pro as well as my desktop computer. If it was just for my desktop, I'd just get an internal sound card. Do you have any recommendations?
Did you really mess up ATH-M50 that much?
I was tired when I was posting :downs: Oh god, Now I hope I actually did order ATH M50's.
A steam friend of mine says that I need to spend at least $100 to get quality headphones. I don't see why, I just need a headset with great audio quality for gaming and music. Comfort is important too. I was thinking about spending only $40-70. Any recommendations on what I should buy?
So, what's the general consensus on the Sennheiser HD280 Pro set? My 201's are breaking (Connector's gone bad), so I need a new pair. May as well sink some cash into it this time.
My friend has the HD280 pros, they lack the bass the ATH-M50 has but has better highs. I prefer the M50 and so does he when he used mine.
Budget: Up to ~100 euros eBay: Nope Country: Netherlands Isolation: Closed preferred, but if a superior open headset is available, I'd like to take a look at it. Purpose: Mainly gaming, with a side order of music and movies. Music Tastes: Previous Experiences:Logitech G35 wired version (don't judge ;_;). Comments:I litterally broke my old headphones 5 minutes ago for the second time at the same spot, like so: http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ8fqiitVxH5TYe_bgHkz_ynIsq9-9OmZkBjQkjpSglzUry17SLO8NaVWex I replaced it the first time for free after some warranty procedures, but I don't think I want to go through that again. Now I'm looking for something superior for the same amount of money. I've got no dedicated sound card, so USB ones don't really matter to me. Headset preferred to headphones, unless the headphone + clip mic is superior. Thanks :)
Budget:~£100 eBay: Nope Country:England Isolation: Over Ear(Closed/Open doesn't really bother me) Purpose:60% Gaming, 40% Music Music Tastes:Stuff like this, this and this. Previous Experiences:A pair of Sennhieser Px 200 ii's which I love but I mainly use for their portability and some fairly shitty Razer ones. Comments:Headphones preferred to headsets. The budget isn't too strict and you could go up to maybe £130 or so. I am not fussed about headphones needing amping, though I would need some advice on the amp too. I have looked also at ATH-M50's and am wondering if they would be the right choice based on what I have said so far?

I know I said Nope to Ebay, but if they're brand new and legit I don't give a damn where they come from. Currently costs ~130 euro's in total to get them to my place. Any other suggestions?

I'm completely in the dark here. The only thing I know about Headphones is not to go for that Pr0/Gaming marketing shit. Beyond that, i've got no idea what to look for to enhance the gaming experience.
So I'm currently looking at possibly buying a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 pro's. See I'm in need of headphones to carry with me so I need something closed and very isolating, foldable and/or with rotatable earcups so I can put them in a bag without having to carry said bag like I was carrying antique wineglasses. The 280's seem to fit this perfectly and be about as expensive as I feel comfortable paying for. Only problem really is that 68 ohm impedance seems a little high, I find my HD558's (50 ohm) muddled when running directly off of my pc's onboard. Not that I really mind this as it just gives me an excuse for building a headphone amp. Still it's always a good idea to consider your options, does anyone have a better suggestion? Really good isolation and portability are my only demands, price is flexible but I'd prefer not to spend too much as then I wouldn't want to bring them anywhere for fear they might break or get knicked.
The ATH-M50's do everything you want and have a coiled cord.
The ATH-M50's do everything you want and have a coiled cord.
I know, they where a consideration but they're 60% more expensive at 1300SEK and well past the point where they're worth so much I don't feel comfortable bringing them anywhere.
Ugh, this is bullshit. These "G4ming, pr0, fatal1ty, 7.1 Dolby surround sound" naming schemes makes it impossible to find an pair of headphones for gaming without these features inflating the price at the expense of sounds quality. At a loss here on what to do next really. I have no idea where to look or what to look for, and I don't want to spend 150 dollars to find out I could've gotten a superior pair for half that much. [editline]2nd December 2011[/editline] Scratch that: Sennheiser HD 555 is looking quite good. Gotta check it out more before making the step.
Wow. I listened to some music through an amplifier in our living room (used for home theater) with my K240's and it sounded damn good. In my room I only have the Xonar DG, which I guess is better than nothing. Hey, I just figured out what I want as a present on Christmas. FiiO E9.

What are some possible alternatives in and around this budget range?
Budget:€40-50 eBay: Nope. Country: Denmark Isolation: Non-in ear earphones (like the ones for the iPod/iPhone etc.) Purpose: Music Music Tastes: Metal, rock Previous Experiences: I had some surprisingly good earphones that I got from my old HTC Wildfire. The sound was pretty good and the build was the best I've tried (thick wires are awesome) Comments: I'd prefer it if I could get them on amazon.co.uk
