So, I'm gonna buy the ATH-AD700s. I'm a little worried though, people say they're huge and don't fit right. Are these all people who have small heads or are they really large?
Sennheiser HD218's any good? What about the 201's?
If your price range is limited to 201s then I'd recommend them. They'll blow your mind until you get better Sennheisers.
I was thinking of getting some closed Beyerdynamic DT880's if they make a closed version. They've been something I've looked at for awhile and I'd like a new pair of headphones versus my D2000 Denons which I've had for a few years. Anyone have a pair of DT880's or 770's This will be an upgrade along with a new sound card plus a possible external amp.
Should I pick up SONY MDR-ZX100 for 14.5 USD?
Anyone?
okay back for more questions im thinking i maybe dont want to spend so much on headphones, but I really like the look and shape of the Westone UM2s and theyre apparently very comfortable which is important. So what about the Westone UM1s? Would they be a good choice too or is there something better for that kind of price? Also with the UM1s would a portable amp even be necessary, since theyre a bit lower end? and finally, opinions on the Ultimate Ear 700s?

I have this headset right now and I'm in pretty bad need of a replacement. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826265065&Tpk=Plantronics 377 I have no clue about the technical aspects of headphones, but I would love it if someone could recommend me something of similar quality. I'd be okay with getting a desk microphone too. Thanks. Oh, and these broke in the typical places that they were recalled for. The headphones are barely surviving as it is with duct tape and the mic no longer works. v:v:v
What's your budget? Get a nice pair of headphones and a zalman clip-on mic and you'll be set
What's your budget? Get a nice pair of headphones and a zalman clip-on mic and you'll be set
Anywhere up to $70 I suppose. If it's a bit over that, that's fine too.

So, during class my friend brought in his megalodon headset so i could listen to them, and i was not impressed. so after some thought i think i'm going to go with the headphone and desk mic route. what could you guys recommend for 80-120 dollars

They're great, but you might find them 'lacking' in mids. The truth is, they're not lacking, they're just really really 'honest' if you know what I mean. Then again, I bought them for mixing purposes. I can't go back to my old headphones (Sennheiser hd 280 pro) now without feeling like I'm listening through a cardboard tube though. Everything seems muffled.
for gaming or what
For gaming mostly, though i do like my music.
For gaming mostly, though i do like my music.
if sound leakage isn't an issue for you, ad700 if it is, a700 + zalman clipon
are you using an amp
Audio-Interface. I know what you're getting at though, but it's not the impedance. The headphones themselves just don't have a lot of mid.
Hey guys, I'm looking for a fairly high quality gaming headset that can't get over the 100+ price range (I imagine $100 exactly though would be fine, and I could possibly haggle to the $120 price range.) I previously owned a Barracuda to go with my Razer Barracuda sound card, but that broke (the headset, not the card) and I've been making do with fairly low-quality $15 headphones. The other thing I'm concerned about is, should I try and make sure it'll fit with the sound card (so ultimately just buy another Barracuda headset, which are fairly cheap at around $70,) or will I get just as good sound from plugging it into the motherboard sound port (it's 3 years old if that is important.)
