I don't understand why manufacturers can't take their good headphones and stick a mic on for £7 more?
Maybe in their trying to have a good quality microphone they jack up the price or quality of the headphones?
I don't understand why manufacturers can't take their good headphones and stick a mic on for £7 more?
marketing why do that when you can also slap an extra £20 on top as well and it will still sell
Update on my 595's. I've also ordered the ATH-M50's to compare them side by side and see which one's best to my taste. I do have to say that since then, I've grown more fond of my 595 though, and continue to do so. With that said, some suggest an amp to really bring them up and about. Could anyone suggest a simple, cheap amp that does the job right for this kind of headphone?
impulse bought HTF600 [editline]10th December 2011[/editline] will be here monday
impulse bought HTF600 [editline]10th December 2011[/editline] will be here monday
I'm interested in your findings. What will you compare them to?
HD202, JVC HARX700, iGrado, KSC75 That's all I really have.
Is there any big difference between a generic desktop microphone and that clip-on one that everyone keeps recommending here? [editline]10th December 2011[/editline] This one: http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone-Microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1323119157&sr=1-1

If it's just gonna be used for VOIP then quality doesn't really matter all that much as long as it isn't downright terrible. Though Logitechs desktop mics are somewhat overpriced for what they bring, would not recommend.
We'll need a budget.
Something around 150, but it can go over a bit.
Some radio station is running a competition to win a pair of Beats by Dre, I have never raged so hard at the comments on facebook when someone said they're shite. "But they Have Noise cancelling!!" , "But all the professionals use it!" etc.
They're too dumb to understand Dr. Dre just wants free money from something he endorses
One of my friends wanted a pair of 50 Cent endorsed Can's. First thing I asked him was "If they weren't endorsed would you buy them" his response was "Of Course Not!!" Thus, Marketing 101.
Op you should add these http://www.amazon.com/JVC-HARX900-High-Grade-Full-Size-Headphone/dp/B0013P3ZOE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1323570546&sr=8-1 Comfier big brother of HARX700's, with a larger sound stage. Not incredible for metal and heavy rock, but, anything else is excellent, including indie/pop rock. The hi's are a bit recessed but they are incredible for the price. Only downside considering the price is the left phone is a slight bit heavier than the right, due to the hardcable. Our station uses them for certain things, they get the job done, and are very sturdy.

Yea, you'd need to shell out more for the headphones to make the best of that amp. [editline]11th December 2011[/editline]
Need some help guys. You're going to able able to hear everything your soundcard can muster up, and the phones are comfortable for long hours. You won't feel isolated when nothings coming through, but, when you're getting shot at, you won't hear anything outside of them. The large soundstage I found is wonderful for shooters. Also, if you want to listen to music in the long run, they'll be good for that to. 56 bucks, leaving room for a Zalman clipon mic if you get weary of using your headset's. I know I sound like I work for JVC, but, they're in your pricerange, and having been doing radio and what not for a long time and worked with alot of hardware, I'm convinced the HARX series are awesome bang for buck.
Budget: $50-$120 USD eBay: No thank you. Country: United States Isolation: Yes please. Purpose: 100% Music Music Tastes: Rock, Alternative Rock. Ex: Queen, Coldplay Previous Experiences: My sister has a pair of ear padded bass headphones and now I want a pair. Comments: I'd like good bass. I don't need headphones that plug into an amp as I don't have one. I am only looking for a model name at the moment, no vendors. Thank you for your help.
Right, I'm thinking of buying the Seinheiser HD 215's or the HD 438's. I will mainly use the headphones for music listening. Which one do people recommend?
Both of you should look at Sony's XB line, XB500 or XB700 most likely.
The XB700s have been reported as having slightly less bass than the XB500s, but they are still amazing.
