What would be a good open on ear headset for deep bass? My budget is $75.

With a mic attached to it.

Why do you have that many of them? Also, a Zalman clip on and a pair of decent headphones would be far better than those. Those also look like they would hurt your head loads. The edges of the pads see really sharp.
Budget: £35 roughly
Country: UK
Isolation: Over ear
Purpose: I'm doing a sound engineering course, so they would be for in college to listen to high quality music mostly. They would be plugged in through an Mbox.
Previous Experiences: We got a pair of AKG K77 from the college. They aren't to bad, though they feel flimsy and I don't like how the top sticks out.
I was thinking about getting a pair of Sennheiser HD 205-IIs, they seem pretty good. I've had good experiences with Sennheiser with in-ear

eww ricer headsets.
Is there a thread for speakers as well, or does this cover it?
No seperate thread; and this is technically about head phones, but someone should be able to help you.

Thinking about it, for the next version the OP should make it the general sound thread.

"The Sound thread: featuring The Great Guide in the Sky (pun intended)"
Budget: £70
eBay: No
Country: Scotland
Isolation: Over ear ( noise cancelling )
Purpose: Gaming
Previous Experiences: Using a shitty turtle beach x11 headset right now / used to have stanton dj pro 3000 headphones before they broke.
Comments: Need em mostly for gaming / movie watching etc and hopefully they aren't very heavy
Also if the recommended headphones/headset don't have a mic I can possibly spend up to £20 more on a separate mic

Hell, they should change it to that.
Also, reccomend me some microphones tabletop? 10-50 dollars.
They should also add this to OP

Should I spend $40 for Seinnheiser HD419's or go for the cheaper $20 HD201's? Is there any huge different between the two?

HD419 are new and there's not many reviews out on them
(but really HTF600)

Know anywhere that has them in store, i can order but rather get em sooner..
got my v-moda octaves
good packaging, build quality is a 10/10, extremely solid and good looking, comes with plenty of tips for different sized ears
used the standard tips and played some songs from: The Submarines, Pendulum, Nero, Ephixa, Justice, Hadouken!, Tiesto, Darude, Daft Punk, Alestorm, and Rage Against the Machine on my iPod Nano 1G, most are 320kbps mp3s with a few 192 and a few 128, no amp
highs are alright, mids are a bit recessed, good and controlled bass (more than stock A700s, slightly less than EQ'd A700s, much less controlled than A700s)
the isolation with these is amazing and there is 0 sound leakage, however they're only enjoyable at 50%+ volume otherwise everything sounds pretty awful, some slight microphonics also
overall I would say they're an extremely good buy for $15, though I would not use them if you're into anything other than bass heavy electronica with minimal vocals
[editline]24th December 2011[/editline]
I think these would work extremely well with a Cowon S9 and a Fiio E6
[editline]24th December 2011[/editline]
I'll do some more testing via my desktop X-Fi Titanium and some flac songs
[editline]24th December 2011[/editline]
wow I am extremely impressed so far after switching to my desktop, I swear these things have more bass than my A700s after going through EQ and they definitely expose some artifacts in the songs' compression
-snip-
<3 my ATH M50's. Jesus they're loud though. If I turn them up above about 10 or 20% you can hear them miles away.
Got my M50s today, I've only listened to a couple songs and I'm already blown away.
Lots of people getting new M50s :(
Was really hoping for the ATH AD700s or whatever those audiotechnicas were but stupid amazon.com won't ship to canada so I ended up getting the HD558s, still great!! How much better will they sound with an offboard sound card?
Also I've got the Zalman mic setup now too, can't wait to find out how they work compared to my Carcharias' mic..

Probably better, though I think that Razer use the Zalman clip on's internals in their mics (or it might be Sennheiser that does that).
Just bought the ATH-M50S (straight cable) and a FiiO E6 about an hour ago from Amazon, and the E6 has already shipped.
how the fuc
Got my HTF600's, they rule.
The fiio e5 however sucks, all it does is make everything sound muddy.
obvious question is: why are you trying to use an amp with the htf600s
