Straight.
I think that means that I am the only person I this thread with curly corded M50's.
Well i'm returning my shitty turtle beach headphones to best buy. Anyone know of a good headset for 80-90$ (From best buy)? Also ones with a good bass.
So I'm looking at possibly getting a reasonable set of headphones for my TV, ideally wireless (my bed is the opposite end of the room to my telly, and a cord just looks unsightly). What's the consensus on the Panasonic RP-WF820EB-K? Fairly pricey for my tastes (it doesn't need to rock my socks off, it's just for watching TV and the odd film) but looks good
I have the ATH-M50s and they are shittons better than Beats. I compared them with my friend's at school, and I won.
I believe open are generally better since they don't have to deal with sound bouncing around inside the headphone cup, or whatever. [editline]30th December 2011[/editline] never even heard of XD200, they're probably mediocre. Go with HTF600 if you can, or go with HD201 if you can't. I have other $30-50 headphones and HTF600 are by far the best, and have a great soundstage as well.
WELL YOU BETTER DON'T SCAM ME FUCKING DANCING TIGER BECAUSE I AM BUYING THOSE. However I have this weird perception that Closed headphones hurt the ear. :(
they're semi-openish lol, what store are you looking at? There might be better for the price.
Amazon is my only option. :V
a
Amazon is where it's at for you american folk.. I'm from Canada and I can't get anything from there, that's why I ended up with HD558s instead of the ATH-AD700s :(
If my card didn't have a stupid 100€ limit I would've bought AD700's from Amazon.
My e6 amp is here at last
Not sure if this is the best place to ask it, but does anyone know what a good setting for music on Sennheiser HD558's on a Xonar DG would be?
Not sure if this is the best place to ask it, but does anyone know what a good setting for music on Sennheiser HD558's on a Xonar DG would be?
The default setting without any of the filters. Unless you mean EQing them or something, if so then I have no clue.
I got some Skull Candy's for Christmas, they're not too bad actually. They're on par with my Marshmallows, which fall out my ears sometimes so I guess I'll be using the SC's for a while. Don't want my parents to feel bad I guess.
The default setting without any of the filters. For music I've been using it, but yesterday I turned off Dolby Headphone and went to 2ch, and set up the Rock equalizer now and again, and it sounds better, but I'm used to the fake-y surround because of my old headset for some reason.
There are TONS of posts about witch headphones to buy, but surprisingly little about how to pick headphones for ourselves. How can we tell the bass? The highs, and midds? The volume? Great post, full of the end resalt that I was looking for, but what about the other headphones? If anyone out there knows a guide on picking them for ourselves, please post it.

Hi guys, my headphones are currently dying and I am in need of a new one at the moment! Budget: 50-80 euros, can strech if it's like.. 10-20~ euro's more. eBay: No thanks. Country: Netherlands. Isolation: No preference. Purpose: 80% Gaming 20% Music. Music Tastes: Rock (Rise against, Anberlin etc.) Previous Experiences: Experiences with headphones? Got the fatality (It was a gift!) that were working for four years, so i'm pretty new to this. Cheers for your time.
I've been looking at some Grado SR60i Headphones. It looks like good sound for cheap, which I like. yes or no?
You used virtual surround on stereo content? :eng99:
Yeah, idk I kind of like the effect sometimes, even if the music obviously isn't in 8 channels, it has an interesting sound to it.
Budget: $80/60€/600SEK can squeeze in more if needed I just want it preferrably around this price point Country: Sweden Isolation: Closed? I don't want sound to travel from them to the microphone I don't know if that is what isolation means I: Purpose: Playing PC Games, listening to music, every day PC usage. Music Tastes: Electronic (dubstep, dnb, etc.), Hiphop, and the occasional Rock Previous Experiences: Headsets... :v: Comments: My games features a lot of shooting and explosions. I have onboard sound but will get a soundcard soon, wouldn't mind recommendations for a cheap one.

Though it really depends on your definition of cheap. For me, that's less than $50 USD. Onboard is generally fine esp. if it's a reputable chip maker like Realtek. (Which you'll find on most non-intel mobos) Closed headphones are headphones which aren't open to the air, they generally keep more noise in than open air headphones but usually (In my experience at least) sound more clear. Closed tend to sound heavier and darker, aren't as good with highs. I prefer closed, as I like to block out the world around me as much as possible when listening. (I also like a dark and boomy bass) As for the recommendations, I'd look at the Koss Pro DJ100 (you'll need an amp fiio e5/e6 would be good) and the Sony MDR-v6 if you can get it for around 600 SEK Otherwise I'd say save another $20 and shoot for the AudioTechica ATH-M50's (which I'm biased towards)
ATH-M50s are $140 [editline]3rd January 2012[/editline] but yeah, those are the way to go

I got an Asus Xonar DG for about $30 and it's miles ahead of my Realtek HD onboard as far headphone amplification goes, and it's just generally a lot more detailed in options, it seems great for the price, although if I had the money I'd obviously go for something nicer like an Essence STX.
the most you should spend on a sound card is around $100, past that you should be looking at an amp or a dedicated dac/amp combo
So I recently just purchased a pair of A700's and I want to get the most out of them, Now the equipment I use on the road already has an amplifier/Soundcard. I am mainly looking for decent priced Soundcard/amplifier combo to use when I am at home using my computer.
