Xonar DG specifies that it has a built in amp so I guess that is a good improvement over integrated? Or is that just a marketing lie

every sound card has a built in amp
[editline]3rd January 2012[/editline]
So I recently just purchased a pair of A700's and I want to get the most out of them, Now the equipment I use on the road already has an amplifier/Soundcard. I am mainly looking for decent priced Soundcard/amplifier combo to use when I am at home using my computer.
o2 amp and xonar dg
o2 amp and xonar dg
I only have PCIe x1 slots, The 480's are covering up the rest.
I hope there are some decent PCIe x1 soundcards out there.
[editline]3rd January 2012[/editline]
Damn the price of that amp, well I guess I did pay $600 for my other one.

you dont need anything better than onboard unless you have a problem with your onboard (crackling, noise).
Thoughts on Koss UR18's?

A friend wanna buy the Philips O'Neill Stretch headphones. Are they good? What would be a better buy?

According to some reviews and some posts on Head Fi they are pretty bad as far as sound goes. A pair of ATH M50's would be far better and only about £10 more.
Budget: 50-150 USD
Looking for some around-ears to replace the Bose AE2s I wasted my money on
Interested in gaming as well as music
I still want beats, but I realized that I've been blindly spending the money I saved up for it, and only have 50 or so dollars left. I checked out earphones at the radioshack website, and this caught my eye... http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11912537&retainProdsInSession=1
Has anybody had experience with these headphones? They seem like they would work as well as Solo beats, and they're 150 bucks cheaper. If anybody has had experience with these, do they work well and are they worth the 50 dollars?

HOW. How do you keep finding the ripoff "designer" headphones?
You should probably get a pair of HTF 600's or a pair of HD201's.

no you don't

It has to be something I can buy at radio shack for 50 dollars or less, I just searched on the site and it doesn't seem like they have it.

Oh my.
Why are you limited to Radioshack.
Go look into the XB-500s or the XB-300s. They are godly.
EDIT: Fuck you shadaez.
I'm late.
I figure the thread isn't keen on Turtle Beaches, but my x11s are just so damn comfy.
Thoughts on Koss UR18's?
Frequency response of 25-15khz...no, just no. I have the KSC75 (fr 15-25khz), believe me you want those high frequencies.
TheUR18 is $13 + $5 shipping on Newegg. If it needs to be a small headphone I'd go with a JVC HA-S160 for $17.50 at Newegg.
The Koss KSC75 cost about the same but I can only recommend them if you are willing to mod them. At the very least they'll require a recabling. Yes there is a no questions asked lifetime warranty but Koss charges $9 shipping and you'll wind up with a set of KSC75s with the same cheap cable. I don't know about anyone else but I'm not willing to pay $9 a year to Koss to use these headphones.
edit: btw, I'm not saying you should buy these at Newegg, just using it to show comparably priced items
Well, I only have like $15-20 to spend on headphones... I was originally looking at the HD201's, but their price is really inconsistent. Should I get those instead, or is there a better contender in my price range?
Does anyone know if there are any velvet earcup replacements for the A700's?
[editline]3rd January 2012[/editline]
Or could the ones used on the AD700's work?

The 201s are probably your best bet for a regular headphone in that price range, they are usually on sale at Newegg every couple of weeks or so. So if you can wait a bit...
Got new earphones in the mail today. They're a Pioneer SE-CL721 and I paid about $35 for them. I think they're pretty cool, but they have a bit of bass on them I didn't expect.
[editline]5th January 2012[/editline]
And yes, I realize they say BassHead on them, but I didn't see that when I ordered from Newegg and on the container, it's not in large lettering.
My general experience is that if you want neutral sound(ie no emphasis on bass or other) you need to avoid anything with "DJ" in the name or description.
In fact, you'll want to look for something with "Monitor" in the description. Monitor types are designed to have a flat response across all frequencies.
I figured people would know more in here. Not headphones but speakers:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004H0MQYW/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d2_g147_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_r=03Z9V7W0P5QXZVKDCTK2&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470939291&pf_rd_i=507846
Wanted to get these. Whuddia think guys? HardOCP gave it gold and TTL gave it gold. I do use my speakers occasionally, not to mention my Z5300e's are beat up a lot.
I'd go with normal monitors, but I know nothing about them.

Got my ATH-M50s and E6 today.
There seems to be an issue when I have it plugged into the computer (via USB) and with the 3.5mm going in at the same time.
I get a lot of interference in the headphones. It sounds like morse code inside, and it's very irritating.
The thing is though, that it only does it on my desktop, but not my phone, iPod, or netbook.
Tried to google it, every one claims it's my cell phone sending bad feng shui or some bullshit. This is not the issue.
Anyone know how to fix this, or if it's even common? I do have a workaround currently, but I just want to get this fixed.
