You mean above
I have no idea what happened, post disappeared for me. x.x
well got me the ATH-A700, haven't had anything that would be considered high quality before so nothing to compare them to, but so far I like them, although they are a bit harsh with the highs at first
I have a pair of HD-280s. I was wondering what is a headphone like it or better for around the same price, but without the annoying ass cable.
Can anyone recommend a good sound card? Unless REALTEK HIGH DEFINITION is fine.

I still use iTunes
it can be sluggish at times but otherwise it's fine for me, I don't really care about memory usage because I only listen to music when I'm browsing and it's kind of hard to use up all 4GB of RAM when I'm browsing
I figured people would know more in here. Not headphones but speakers:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004H0MQYW/ref=s9_simh_gw_p147_d2_g147_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_r=03Z9V7W0P5QXZVKDCTK2&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470939291&pf_rd_i=507846
Wanted to get these. Whuddia think guys? HardOCP gave it gold and TTL gave it gold. I do use my speakers occasionally, not to mention my Z5300e's are beat up a lot.
I'd go with normal monitors, but I know nothing about them.
extremely overpriced
Got my ATH-M50s and E6 today.
There seems to be an issue when I have it plugged into the computer (via USB) and with the 3.5mm going in at the same time.
I get a lot of interference in the headphones. It sounds like morse code inside, and it's very irritating.
The thing is though, that it only does it on my desktop, but not my phone, iPod, or netbook.
Tried to google it, every one claims it's my cell phone sending bad feng shui or some bullshit. This is not the issue.
Anyone know how to fix this, or if it's even common? I do have a workaround currently, but I just want to get this fixed.
I don't understand
why do you have it (and how?) plugged in with USB and the 3.5mm jack at the same time
[editline]6th January 2012[/editline]
sounds like a weak sound card
Klipsch is fucking delicious
Budget: $100-$200 (Willing to buy E6 amp included in the budget.)
Amazon
Country: United States
Isolation: Closed
Purpose: Portable Music, some PC
Music Tastes: Rock (System of a Down), Alt Rock, Techno and electronic. Bass is important to me.
Previous Experiences: HD-280's. Going to give them to my brother, the cord is annoying for portable use.
don't buy a portable amp for desktop use unless it's the o2 OR you want to drop a lot of money on one, otherwise an E6 is totally fine for using them with some mid-high end IEMs with an iPod or something
I'd say grab DT770s (80 ohm version) if bass is important, however ATH-M50s are more well rounded and may suit you better seeing as your musical preferences are fairly diverse, though the M50s do not have the bass that the DT770s do, nor do any AT products really
Can anyone recommend a good sound card? Unless REALTEK HIGH DEFINITION is fine.
Unless there's something you can't plug in or sound distortion/static is evident constantly, then it's fine, it's all the same maths anyway, and I doubt the DAC is really much different in a sound card.
Should I buy an amp for ATH-M50's? If so can anyone point me in the direction of one?

no, no point
What about my 558s? I just got the Xonar DG, I don't know if it is the internet telling me soundcards make things sound better or if it really does sound better. Right now I am still dicking around with the settings/equalizer.. Skyrim is echoing voices but MW3 is amazing, I can hear everrythhinngg!
Music sounds slightly better.. I think? :S

50 ohms, no point
generally you don't gain anything substantial from amping low impedance headphones
if your headphones have an impedance of 100 or higher, yes they will benefit from an amp
no, the soundcard itself isn't making things sound better, but you can configure the equalizer and other settings (I'm not familiar with the ASUS drivers) so that it sounds better to you
go buy Sennheiser CX485s from Best Buy or Klipsch Image S4s
the two best IEMs for ~$80-100

The realtek control panel is incredible, I'm not sure how it could be improved on really.

Darn.. too late now! But I'm sure it'll come in handy down the road when I upgrade to something else.. :/
Well at least now I have them set up to my likings.. Would AD700s benefit from a soundcard?

This review isn't exactly rage-material, but I really find it funny what source he lists to prove audiophiles are "batshit-insane."
or you could buy real headphones
Once you mod them to have foam protecting the driver instead of a piece of paper they sound pretty darn good. And they're comfortable as hell. Most other IEM's that I try fall out my ear after a hundred steps or so, but these stay in all the way to school.
no, no point
I wouldn't say there's no point, esp if you've got a device that has trouble driving them (unlikely but possible)

You don't need the E6 when you're using them on a computer. Or most things really. It's picking up interference from the power supply.
Tip for cheapskates:
I've never tried IEMs before, and had a few bucks left over from the holidays. Then I read on Head fi about several different cheap IEMs that seemed to have people excited with their good sound. Then Newegg had one kind on sale for $9.99 w/free shipping, so I went for it.
Philips SHE3580 is the model. First off let me say these are CHEAP, they make the build quality on the Koss KSC75 seem high end. Cheap housing, cheap cable, they look cheap and they feel cheap.
However, the sound...wow. I'm impressed. The sound is not as bright and sparkly as the KSC75 but the bass is tighter. Massive Attack's Mezzanine sounds pretty damn good. This IEM does have trouble with dubstep, it seems like the bass response is good as long as the track is not crazy overloaded with all kinds of frequencies going off at once. Trance and hip hop work great though.
The biggest downside is the cable picks up sound whenever it's touched or moved. So if you use these IEMs and move around, you'll hear it as the cable rubs against your body.

I always had the foam earpiece separate from the rubber tube on my Marshmallows. If other IEMs fall out, then you're using the wrong tip size. They can't be too large or too small.
Personally, I'm a fan of Meelectronics. They put their headphones on sale regularly and have great customer service. The build quality is great for the price, too. My only concern with my M9Ps is that they're a bit bass heavy, though if I switch the EQ on PowerAMP to "Soft treble", it seems to improve a lot.

Every set of 'phones I get I try every earpiece size and they all fall out eventually. I think my ears are just weird...

Ear canals are ovaloid and not circular so I'd imagine you'd benefit from Klipsch Image S4s
