Yeah, I agree. I much prefer the sound system in my truck or my home theatre to my headphones. I realize that they both cost a lot more than the headphones, but so many people in the 'audiophile community' will tell you that certain headphones are equivalent to a $10,000 home theatre system. It's just not true.
The stereo I have is just a cheap, $150 one I got in like 2003, and these headphones cost around that much.

that's funny, I ordered HTF600s recently, too. It'll possibly arrive on the same day for both of us :v: [editline]v[/editline]
that's funny, I ordered HTF600s recently, too. It'll possibly arrive on the same day for both of us :v:
that'd be cool :p I've toyed with the idea of headphones for awhile and my HD201s weren't cutting it for normal use so I figured I'd just get the best cheap pair available
Tell me how they feel comfort wise compared to the 201's.
v-moda octaves best iems <$50
Ended up buying the HTF600's. Estimated delivery by the 18th, let's hope they don't disappoint.
Between £150-200 ($200-300), looking for something with quite a punchy bass, listen to mostly electronic music, I currently use XB500s which I've loved so far but after getting some money together I feel I can do better given the budget. So far I'm using just a Xonar DG, I've been looking at getting the XB1000s then an FiiO E10 down the line or get Beyerdynamic DT770 PROs and use the change left over (£60 change) to get an E10 straight away. Any suggestions? Cheers.

Can't find the 990 Premium 600ohms for less than £250 which is already out of budget and does that amp really come naked?
The only thing I don't really like about the HTF-600s is the pads on them. They're not really cushion-y, they feel hard. I'll probably get some velour pads for it sometime.

Budget: up to $300 eBay: Country:US Isolation: Closed preferred, but if it sounds better then i want open. Purpose: Music Music Tastes: Many different types mostly rock, rap/ hip hop, and dubstep though. Previous Experiences:N/A Comments: I need to replace my old skullcandy headphones that broke a while back and I want to go all out for this pair. Right now i have in ear Bose headphones that i used to use for just sports and running but lately they've become my all round pair.
Skullcandies up to $300 is quite a jump there..
http://www.jdslabs.com/item.php?fetchitem=O2Full dt770s are fine too, just get the higher impedance version if you're buying an amp
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Beyerdynamic-DT770-PRO-Headset-250/dp/B0006NL5SM/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1326662673&sr=1-1 Do they look good? There are those and the premiums, both same impedence but I'm unsure of the differences between them other than the premiums looking a little newer. And the amp you recommended is like £110 with shipping, most I could go if I get the PROs is £70 with shipping. I was looking at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fiio-E10-USB-Headphone-Amplifier/dp/B005VO7LG6/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1326662950&sr=1-4 as it's quite cheap right now.
denon d2000
Do i need an amp?
nope
denon d2000
What are the Pros and Cons? Any other good headphones?
Needed some cheap headphones for library listening (I use a few thousand worth of speakers at home). Got the Panasonic HTF 600s.
like, at the library? those leak pretty badly
What are the Pros and Cons? Any other good headphones?
They have great bass response, don't require much to power it.
so far i can't find any places that sell the d2000 for $300
like, at the library? those leak pretty badly
I realized, cancelled the order. Any reccomendations? $100 or so budget.
I realized, cancelled the order. Any reccomendations? $100 or so budget.
what will you be using them with
what will you be using them with
Xonar Essence STX or iPhone.
you could go for some IEMs if you're not dead set on portable cans, hifiman re0 is good at that range with a fiio e6
you could go for some IEMs if you're not dead set on portable cans, hifiman re0 is good at that range with a fiio e6
I can't use IEMs, medical reasons. Any on ear or over ears, which aren't too huge and don't leak much would be great.
you could go for some IEMs if you're not dead set on portable cans, hifiman re0 is good at that range with a fiio e6
I decided on the DT-990 Pro 250ohm after more research, was uhmming and arhhing over the 770s or 990s but I'd rather rather have the bigger soundstage the 990s give due to being open. Do you know of a DAC/AMP combo (or just amp is fine) in the <£60 range? Otherwise I'll just grab the FiiO E10 (E7+E9 combo is a little expensive). Cheers.
so, how do the Sennheiser Hd 203 stand against Panasonic RP-HTF600-S ?
