It is pretty free....
The 40 day thing doesn't prevent you from doing anything...

Flu.x

Really helps and you wont notice it after a few days (Set it to 60 mins)
I forget its even there only downside is on reddit the links look purple but you can change the settings a bit to make that less annoying
Makes video/games stutter slightly even when disabled - better to just adjust your monitor's colour settings.

Not for me. And lol adjusting both of my monitors settings continuously throughout the day.

Ideally the open source software should be marked accordingly, maybe bolded?

I'd be surprised if the license didn't prohibit you from running the software afterwards. Either way, it's still payware and 7-zip is better than it in every single way except UI, which I've never seen in months.

AFAIK it still lets you use the software for uncompressing, but it will disable creating archives. It'll also pop up with a nag screen every time you use it.
It affects video games too so I don't use it.
The warm yellowness ruins STALKER.
For me it doesn't even affect DirectX and OpenGL when in fullscreen so fullscreen games look like without it.

There's a difference between open-source and free software.
It's a pretty significant one.
This is the free software thread...
WinRAR is free. It's optional to pay for it. There's even an option to disable the popup that comes up when you open it that asks you to pay.

I'v had it isntalled forever - i can create zip folders and stuff...
why would you even use winrar anymore? There's literally no reason. I can use anything else to do the same thing without getting nagged to purchase it, as though anyone has ever actually bought it.
I only use WinRAR through the shell extension.
The shell extension never whines about anything, and I like the UI.
Don't forget about avg.
Don't forget about avg.
Ignore AVG, it's just bloat now. Microsoft Security Essentials, COMODO InternetSP Premium and Panda Cloud Free should be added to the Antivirus list though.
Here's the rundown:
"I don't need an antivirus/I want to leave it and forget it" - MSE or Panda Cloud
"I want something that is fully featured and makes me feel safe" - Avast.
"I'm paranoid about everything and want to be super secure!" - Comodo.
Wouldn't Speccy go under System Information? Just sayin.
Let's not forget about www.ninite.com, which automates the installation of many of the apps listed in the OP. It's a great way to speed up Windows reinstalls, especially if you include the ninite installer of the apps you need on the Windows Disc to automatically run after installation.

no it doesn't?
I've been using it for months and it shuts itself off when I launch games
