Nice reading.
Because I'm going to go around getting my body full of static, opening their cases, and frying their components before they smash me with a hammer?
Uhhh..
I really hate when pre-teens and early teens say stuff like this. I don't know why. It just bothers me. I guess because it's not funny.

I did read. He asked if it's a good age to start but it's a dumb thread.
So long as they can spell and have good grammar I don't care
You don't need to spell or have good grammar to build a computer
If you want complete peace of mind you could just use an anti static strap like this.

Hahaha, WHAT? People actually use these? You must be some sort of newb.
Remember kids, the chassis works as an excellent grounding. Just make sure the PSU is off, and the AC plug is connected.

But you do need to know how to spell and have decent grammar to avoid being raped by the community on facepunch. :eng101:

Fast threads disagrees with you.
Intensely.
It is really good to start at the youngest age you can, I am 11 now and I know quite a lot about installing computers, been studying and playing with computers ever since I was around 2 :v:
Dude you are a very well mannered kid I'm half tempted to think your not twelve... in a good way. Have a very nice time on Facepunch.

i remember when i was 11...
all facepunch was fields.
343N, You're probably the only 12 year old person I don't want to hate.
A good start with computer is disk drives, hard drives, power supply, or anything that fits in a PCI slot. I learned it the hard way and tried to mess with my motherboard when I first got computer parts.
You're in the lead of your peers, so go on and become something in society.
I CaN INsERt GPU IM SmERT OLO:lol:LoL

The commas are perfectly correct. Are you trolling or are you just this bad of a poster?
Twelve was my age when I made my first rig with my brother. You should be fine. :D

I really, REALLY have to agree with you there.
Also, we're going in 3 hours, I'm going to check the stock of the harddrives and GTS 250 right now.

I was contemplating writing something similar.
OP, there are a lot of people who are so pathetic that they can only bully really young kids like yourself.
I'm 21 and I installed my first computer parts when I was around your age. Learning about computers when I was that young was one of the best things I've ever done in my life. Installing parts isn't that hard and you can definitely do it.
a non-retarded 12-year-old? on the internet? wow.
Me and my brother was fiddling with my other brother's computer a couple of years back. Then all of the sudden I got an electric shock. It felt kinda nice, but sadly my brother didn't have a computer anymore. But he said it was okey as long as he could take mine.. (which he of course did) Now whenever I am going to work with my computer I use a portable radiator.
First 12 year old I've seen in a while who knows how to spell. When I was your age I couldn't spell worth dick.
Alright, turns out, my dad wants my motherboard, so I'm going to buy a new motherboard, the GTS 250, 1TB HDD and DDR3 Ram, because his is only DDR.
Yeah, thats it.
So I'm getting a new motherboard AND ram aswell, I'll tell my dad to put the motherboard in, and I'll put in the parts.
[editline]10:07AM[/editline]
Fuck, I need to find a motherboard on the LGA 775 socket, we can't get a new CPU.

Oh, Killowatt, you're such a bullshitter :v:
We've just bought the parts, got a 500gb harddrive, ASUS GTS 250, a Asus P5P41T-LE motherboard, and DDR3 Ram.
What about processor?...
Already got one.
Also, we've done everything except the PSU.
Installing the RAM is as easy as shit, I didn't fry anything either, and the HDD is SATA, we need SATA cables, I should be done later.
You joined FP when you were 9 or 10?
:psyduck:
[editline]11:55PM[/editline]
oh ok I get it now
HEY HEY HEY GUYS I AM (X) AGE AND CAN DO (X)
Seriously get the fuck over it i joined facepunch when i was 10 and i already knew how to build computers and code some languages.
Well, it was easier than thought, everything is done, posting using new computer now, just need to setup the new harddrive through the motherboard settings, and we're completely done.
