Your 12??? I dont believe it. You act like a 16 year old. Ahhh maturity. Your alright kid.
Good luck OP, I'm sure you'll do a good job. :buddy:
I remember when I first fiddled with a computer. I was going to insert a new GPU into it, and I was on the phone with one of my friend's dad, and I was like: "Is it that easy?" [editline]03:13PM[/editline] Also, if I remember correctly I was 11 at the time (I'm 14 now)...Good luck for you in the future, kid! [editline]03:14PM[/editline]
Your 12??? I think this is the first time I have ever seen FP be nice to anyone under 13
With todays color-coded + clearly labeled + keyed ports and slots, there's really no more "putting things in backwards and frying" anything anymore... I remember getting so frustrated when my IDE cables weren't keyed and they were in backwards.
I once spent 20 minutes trying to figure out why one of my headless servers wouldn't boot I had an IDE cable in backwards. it was an old AT motherboard without all the keyed ports.
I once spent 20 minutes trying to figure out why one of my headless servers wouldn't boot I had an IDE cable in backwards. it was an old AT motherboard without all the keyed ports.
I broke a CD drive that way. :< Also lol at AT, does it have on of those power supplies where the on switch is hard-wired to it?
I broke a CD drive that way. :< Also lol at AT, does it have on of those power supplies where the on switch is hard-wired to it?
it did :v: I don't have it anymore.
I remember on my old P2 computer that I was stuck with until 2005, I used to use the top CD drive as a cup holder, since the laser was dead.
You are doing it right. :unsmith:
taking into consideration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DPQW0e9ufM we can deduct that: Mac fanboys < ATI monkey < 12 year old FP users. so there goes Mac fanboy argument #35 " not everyone knows how to install and configure computer parts"
90 degree SATA > SATA > Rounded IDE > Flat IDE. I know, some people prefer the flat IDE cable because they can make it run on a surface without blocking any airflow and makes it look neat. Except it's a hassle, figuring out which angle to bend.
90 degree SATA > SATA > Rounded IDE > Flat IDE.
Some motherboards can only accpet the type of sata cable where only one end have a 90 degree connector, due to the way the motherboard was designed, as all the sata ports are placed in a 3x2 arrangement or similar
I like this guy.
The fist thing i did was moving everything in my computer to a new chassi (?) and changing hdd, gpu and psu. I was 12 too
I remember first working on supercomputers when I was 16.
14 here, still waiting for the right time for my dad to teach me about computers, but he's too busy with his own, plus we don't have the money to buy any parts.

Installing hdds is easy so long as its not fucking fiddly to connect any of the cables D:
I'm 12 (shock, horror!) and I like the hardware side of things too. I've switched HDDs, CPUs, Graphics cards, etc. Good luck, OP!
I'm 12 (shock, horror!)
Nobody is shocked or in horror.
